This is the current dining plan for our trip 11/3-11/10. I decided against character breakfasts since I don't really want to 'rush' anywhere during our trip. This is the first trip as a family, both my dh & I have been when we were kids but our kids have not.

There are 4 of us, our kids will be dd8 & ds5.

Wed 11/3 (arrive in Orlando around 1pm)
7:20 Chef Mickey's

Thurs 11/4
5pm Hollywood & Vine
(could not get FDP - all booked for all 7 nights, will try 30 days out but made PS anyway in case we can't book the package)

Friday 11/5
3pm Ice Cream Social

Saturday 11/6
5:40 Crystal Palace
(wanted later so we could get out just before parade & fireworks but that was the latest they had)

Sunday 11/7
No PS

Monday 11/8
7:20 O'hana

Tuesday 11/9
No PS

Wednesday 11/10
check-out

I wanted to plan some specific places but don't want to be on a schedule per say. Casual eating will be fine for us most of the time, park eating and at POFQ (where we are staying).

Any input? Is it not enough? Am I missing a 'can't miss' experience for my family?

I am planning to try Beaches & Cream but I read that they don't take PS so we will just go and see what happens.

Also, I believe we are there during F&W, I have seen people who have reservations and do not know what that is for exactly. With 2 young kids, I don't think I want reservations, can you not just walk around and see/try things without reservations?

Thanks in advance for any input

I think it looks great -- being that your kids will be making a first visit and that you and your spouse haven't been since kids, you will be wanting to spend as much time at the parks (and not in the restaurants) as possible ... allow some down time at the pool as well.

In all my years going to WDW, I have never been to the Hoop-de-do Review; however, that always gets rave reviews. If your budget allows, you may want to add that to the schedule.

Have a great time!!

The reservations that everyone is talking about is for the F&W events. These are pricey and specialized. There are booths set up throughout World Showcase were you can purchase items to try. These are great. We usually make a lunch of just these items. You can have an appetizer in Mexico, go on to an entree in Italy, and dessert in France (just as an example). There are plenty to choose from.

I have been to most of the places on your list. Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's were favorites with my kids. They also loved Whispering Canyon. Have a great time!

Here's my 2 cents:

Chef Mickey's -- Was very disappointed my last visit there. Would recommend Whispering Canyon Cafe instead.

Hollywood & Vine -- Never dined here, but have not heard the best reviews. I would strongly recommend the 50's Primetime Cafe

Crystal Palace -- Love this place!! Dined here for both lunch & dinner last trip.

O'hana -- Really enjoyed this place.

Some other places that are really good:

Cindy's & Casey's at the Magic Kingdom
Le Cellier & the Rose & Crown at EPCOT
Tusker House at Animal Kingdom
Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club

Thanks for the responses.

I will look into some of the other dining suggestions that were offered.

I have done HoopDeDoo many many moons ago when I was a teenager (we won't discuss the number of moons it was :-) ).
We had stayed at Fort Wilderness when they were trailers...
:earseek:

I'm not sure if my 5 yr old will deal with it and he is a picky eater so this time around I think we will skip it but thanks for the suggestions, I did consider it.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply and the information you shared (thanks for the F&W info also).
