Hi,

I'm hoping some of you is the US will be able to help me!!

We've just found out this morning (UK time) that out flight from London to Orlando will not be operating today. This means that we will probably miss our connection with the Disney Wonder on Sunday afternoon (we thought geting into MCO on Saturday evening would give us plenty of time!! - who knew!!).

My question to anyone out there - is there any local news about DCL holding the Disney Wonder a little later on Sunday afternoon. I saw from these boards that the Magic is delaying the departure today, I'm praying that they do the same with the Wonder tomorrow.

Please let me know anything you can as we have a very sad family here in London at the moment - we should have just left for the airport.

Good Luck - I hope that everything works out for you!

Were you able to make other arrangements to get to the US? I wondered if you could fly in to Miami and then rent a car to get to Orlando? So sorry our weather is messing with your plans.

Hope something Wonderful works out for you.

CM Mom, thanks for your best wishes.

No I'm afraid we weren't able to get a flight from London until next Tuesday (or maybe Monday - I've been on the telephone to our airline and TA all day).

We will miss the Wonder now, we're trying to get some accomodation in Orlando and spend some time at the parks now.

Although we're upset, when we see the damage and suffering that much of Florida has seen, then I suppose our vacation plans aren't really that important.

What a Wonderful attitude. I hope you have a great vacation anyway.

I just talked to DD and the Magic didn't dock until 9:00 (they usually dock at 6:00). They expect that many people won't be able to make it to Orlando since the airport is still closed and isn't expected to open until later this afternoon.

She's currently off the ship at the mall but she's talked to crew that boarded the ship this mornng. Returning crew stayed at the Crowne Plaza last night and there was lots of damage there. One side of the building damaged and trees uprooted. Lots of delays on hiways and getting to the port because of debris.

Hope you make it to this side of the pond and have a wonderful time at the Parks. I understand most of them are already open.

I hope you will be able to book another cruise! Maybe you could join us next week! I am so sorry that your vacation isn't going as planned. Good for you to be so positive!:D Will your travel insurance cover it?

CM_Mom and DisneyCrazyMom

It looks like we'll be flying out to MCO on Monday. We managed to get accommodation so things seemed to work out for us.

Hopefully we'll get some good weather when we get there and we'll get to see Mickey's Philharmagic and Fantasmic.

There's always a bright side!

That has got to be one of the best attitudes that I've seen about your missed cruise. The devastation down here is horrible and it greatly surprised me not to see more people on this board starting threads about worrying about all of the members who live here and making sure that they are okay. I must say that I sat here cursing the storm after it was over because we were without phones and electric and wilting in the 100 degree heat, only to see the coverage of 1/2 north of me and the loss of lives and homes and it made me feel guilty. We may have a lot of mess to clean up in my town, but NOTHING compared to Punta Gorda, Cape Coral, and the like. We know people who have lost everything. Schools are shut down for 2 weeks, electric won't be back to the local areas for 2 weeks, and some people haven't even been allowed back to see their homes.
One thing I can tell you is that I have learned to put things into perspective and not sweat the small things anymore, including whether or not my cruise in October misses ports or if I miss the cruise itself. I'm just thankful that everyone I know made it through without being hurt.
