Any info on accident/heart attack at MK late on 3/21

The second person running to the back with the backboard might have been returning Disney's backboard (used with CPR) after the person was transferred to an ambulance.

Wow! I didn't know it was a federal crime for someone to show genuine concern for another human being..

Amazing..

It's not and the few posters who have made comments - I think - are responding to what they feel like is an "ambulance chaser" mentality.

HOWEVER, very few people have ever witnessed the act of CPR - especailly on a person who has turned "blue" in color. It can be rather shocking (I'm an RN and the first time I saw a man come in the the ER and he was literally navy blue it was definately a shock to me). In any case, I think that the original poster was shocked by this sight as well and it is a natural response for people to "discuss", or ask questions or talk about their feelings.

So , enough already. And by the way, most people don't turn blue when they die (other than an a pale "ash" color) - it is rather uncommon.

Why should they? They do not need to tell you anything. First of all it is none of anyone's business. Second, WDW will not talk about anything "negative" occurring on property.

Time to lay off the caffeine DZNEFREAK.

Your grandson is adorable. I hope your not as snippy with him.

I think the original post was full of concern and it's natural to be interested. Better interested than apathetic. Compassion is rarely considered intrustive.

I'm going to second the opinion that the backboard was being returned to it's original location. The backboard was most likely placed under the victim to facilitate CPR, and when he was transferred to the ambulance, the one the ambulance is equipped with was then used. As far as turning blue, many heart attack victims do come into the ER very blue "cyanotic" after being found when they've been "down" for awhile. Perhaps this man choked and his airway was cut off, by which then, he would have a bluish cast to his face. If he had recently had a heart attack he would not have become blue quite as quickly, but the paramedics may have been working on him for a while at the scene prior to transporting him.

I think you would be surprised to know what goes on and never a word is heard about it to the outside. (from what I have seen/not heard)
About a month ago was an obvious fatality wreck at a main gate on 536. Traffic going towards the parks was diverted to I4 eastbound. It looked like the jaws of life was used to remove the top of a car. A van was also involved.
I have seen the aftermath of other wrecks, ambulances, police officials, skycopters searching over a resort, etc. Not one word mentioned.
How about a Jungle Cruise boat sinking this month? I only knew about that from another board.
But again, what is the public's business and what isn't? WDW is a large, busy area. You have to expect something happens daily.

Actually more often than daily. I mean there are thousands of people there, things will and do happen. Many people have died at WDW from natural causes.

I agree I would imagine the back board was being returned after using it to transfer the guest to the gurney.

See now she knows, or at least things she knows what was going on with the backboard. She would have never known without asking.

I was in a crowded place (not Disney)when a lady outside the door went down. Someone ran in and asked for medical help. People ran out. Since I was with my mom, not seeing her around I went out to make sure it wasn't her. Just the quick glimps I got stayed with me for a long time. I also wondered what happened to her, hoping that she was alright. I went off in seach of my mom and was shaken up for a while.

I just wanted to throw in that even if any CM knew information on the person, they would probably not be allowed to tell you anything. Last year, HIPAA went into effect and pretty much made it illegal for any health care person to give information to anyone not considered a 'individual's caregiver'. (You may have noticed that you now have to sign a privacy statement at your Dr, DDS,pharmacy etc). Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to matter how caring an person you may be, or even how closely you might be related. Chances are you'll never hear another thing about this...even if if hadn't happened at 'the happiest place of earth'.

I was at a friend's wedding when her Uncle had a heart attack on the steps of the church. Another of my friend's who was a guest at the wedding had to preform CPR (she is a psychiatrist and was only a year or two out of residency when this happened)!!! It was very upsetting for us all and it is natural to wonder how the stricken person did. Kind of like saying "via con dios" when an ambulance goes by or in my neighborhood, when the survival helicopter flys over head toward the nearby hospital.

I think the OP was just expressing concern.

When did this Jungle Cruise boat happen? Usually when a ride malfunctions, it is on the news?
