any ideas for the 100 days of school?

My kindergarten class also was assigned to display, not just bring in a bag. Anyway, my favorite one was a dalmation drawn on poster board with 100 choc. chips glued on. I also had a gumball machine w/ gumballs. Lots of kids do 100 pc. puzzles and glue them to a poster. Another of my favorites was a log cabin made out of 100 crayons. I guess the parents had a lot of fun doing these cuz I know the kids didn't do them. One mom made a reenactment of the Civil war w/ 100 armymen. Another mom made a farm w/ 100 animals. I always provide breakfast for them on this day consisting of: a donut stick and 2 bagels= 1 0 0
On the 100th minute of school, someone wins an ice cream. One year I found decks of cards with 100 dollar bills on the back ,punched 2 holes added yarn and the kids wore these necklaces all day.

For the 100th day of school, we purchased a styrofoam wig head and placed 100 pipe cleaners on head for hair. It was so cute! We picked up the wig head at a local beauty supply store for a few bucks.

But, they were also asked to WEAR 100 items!

One of my neices glued 100 "eyes" onto a sweatshirt for her wearable.

When DS did this last year for the second grade, they had to do it for a fashion show and write up a card describing the item. We used 100 rubber bands and made a belt. I can't remember exactly how we wrote it up but it went something like... this one of a kind belt features and elasticized waistband so that one size fits all. One girl wore 100 hair bands in her hair.

My son brought in straws last year. We had bought a box with a lot of colors and his teacher thought it was neat.

My kindergardner has to 100 something in a bag, so we got 100 marbles at the dollar store. But he was also told to bring in 100 shelled peanuts for a project.

Buy a blue poster board or paint one blue then put 100 goldfish on it.

OK heres what we did in 1st grade for the hundred day of school and won a prize for it, In fact the school kept it on display for the whole year!
We took a large poster board and poked 100 holes in it,then drew flowers around the hole, and took a set of christmas lites and stuck them thru each hole. I thought it was cute

We just did 100th day. For my first grader, as a family we drew and colored the Disney Boat "Wonder" on half of a piece of poster board. Once it was colored to her liking she stuck 100 stars in the sky. It turned out great!!

My 4th grade has done this for 5 years now and soon it gets a little hectic. We have done the same ole things and this year they had to wear something with 100 on it. This can get to be bothersome after wearing it a whole day. This year we took some ribbon that dots on it. We counted out 100 dots and cut the ribbon there. She wore it in her hair. Worked great. It's according as to how the dots are spaced as to how long it will be, can be used as a belt too.

Last year, my neice took 100 disney stickers and stuck them on poster board making the number 100 out of them. This year, she is spelling out the school name with 100 paper clips. My son collected 100 autographs (too bad this was before our disney trip . It would've been cool for him to take in 100 character and CM autographs!! Maybe we'll start next years project early !!!

My son has to decorate a paper lunch bag with 100 things on it.

One year DD glued 100 little pom-poms to it, but they fell off.
One year DD glued 100 pennies to it, but they fell off. (and it was heavy!!)
One year DD drew 100 flowers on it.

They then carry the bags around to the gym where they do a bunch of 100th day activities, and at every station, they put things in their bags (worksheets, pencils, bookmarks, paper masks, etc..)

Any suggestions for a new idea to glue onto a bag??

I'm just subscribing for next year I'm a brand new Kindergarten teacher and our 100th day was on January 30th. I wish this thread would have been around 2 weeks ago. There are a LOT of great ideas!

Wish I would of found this earlier. We just finished ours. DD had done Van Gogh's Starry Night in a different school for a Kindergarten Art project. She wanted to make her own version. We got a large dark blue foam board. She cut out the scenry, tree, moon and a house and glued it on. We then got gold foil stickers. She put 100 stars on there. It was fun because she thought to include contellations with smiley faces and a heart. Of course being Disney fans it was not complete with out a hidden Mickey in the stars!

We will be at WDW on the 100th day of school here so I'm not sure if DS will be participating. Hopefully the teacher will send a note home prior to us leaving and we can send something in. Anyway, last year we got 100 paperclips in various sizes and colors. We glued them on a large white poster board in the shape of a house with a fence and a tree and spelled out 100 with them. It was really cute!! We spent a lot of time on it too. Unfortunately DS's teacher at the time didn't realize he had brought in a project and it never got displayed for the exhibit night. I wanted to cry when we showed up at the exhibit and it wasn't there. The next day she found it in the corner of the classroom in the white grocery bag we sent it in and she said she thought it was trash I really disliked that teacher.

My sons first grade teacher had them use old t-shirts or sweatshirts and put 100 of anything on them and wear them the 100th day. Some ideas were buttons, safety pins,patches, bows,stamps-anything. We used left over fabric paint I had already and made 100 different colored circles on an old sweatshirt. It was fun for both of us. He learned how to tally and all sorts of things. All 100 circles fit on the front of the shirt and he was just disappointed to not be able to continue to the back and sleeves.

My friend bought a piece of tagboard, and goldfish crackers. She then drew a large fishbowl on the tagboard and glued the fish inside.
