Any ideas for 50s Primetime?

We leave for Disney World in little more than 24 hours, and I have a burning question about 50s Primetime Cafe!

It's just me and my seven year old daughter this trip, and we love the place. But because it's just the two of us (and we are both kind of quiet), the server didn't play with us very much last summer.

He was great, and there were two other tables in the section we were in, and he was picking on them left and right. It was hilarious and all of us were laughing.

But this time, I want the server to play with us. I know that much of it is the luck of the draw, but any ideas for how we can playfully egg on our server? Thanks :goodvibes

I would say just do things you're not supposed to do as much as possible. Your server isn't the only one who will notice. If you're bad enough, in a funny way not a rude bother other people way, you're bound to get "in trouble". I went with a party of 2 and had a great time.

I agree with the previous poster. For example make sure he sees you texting or talking on the phone maybe. Elbows on the table, etc.

When we went for our honeymoon in 2009, there were several tables of 2 and the server messed with all of us. She was nicest to us since we were newlyweds and had the whole dining room say congratulations to us.

The guy next to us? Not so lucky. He was determined to clean his plate and not get in trouble, but got caught in the act of wiping gravy off his plate with his napkin. He had to stand in the middle of the dining room and sing "I'm a little teapot" complete with the arm gestures.

She fed someone else her vegetables, complete with the "choo choo" train sounds. ;)

Ask the host/ess at check in for a table that has the most animated server. Plus don't sit there and be quiet, the servers read you and react to how you act.

When you order, you could also start the interaction with the server by saying something like, "I'm not sure what we will do with her. She never wants to eat her vegetables and always wants her dessert first. I'm sure that's not allowed here!"

yup, what everyone said. take out your phone as he brings the food. elbows on the table, dont t=eat your peas, and blow straw wrappers at each other and then blame it on the other persson. have a magical trip!!!!

Felt a bit playful on one trip and blew a straw wrapper at DH, who promptly announced in a loud voice pointing to me that he was gonna tell on me. Server made me a paper brat hat I had to wear during dinner.......... Lots of tables around us got in on the fun and servers teased because I was in "trouble".

Other times we've had a quiet adult dinner (well, as much as one can have at PT Cafe) when we've just told the server we're here for dinner only, not to play.

It can be as much fun as you make it. However I've seen less interaction at super busy times.

Thanks, everybody! I am going to give it a try! Should be fun. I'll report back and let you know how it goes. :goodvibes

Just me and my mom and she wants to see her electric ice cube but wouldn't take it out of her glass so I did. She told Cousin Jen that I put my fingers in her glass and Cousing Jen told her that nobody likes a tattle tale. It was so much fun.
