Much to my dismay, Disney TS doesn’t offer sweetened tea. I don’t drink sodas, so I either drink water (tap, thank you) or iced tea, which can never be sweetened once made. If you are from the South, you know what I mean.

But I discovered two CS that serve IMHO the best sweetened tea (Gold Peak). One is in Epcot at the McDonalds stand before Canada. The other is Cosmic rays in MK.

Anyone else find good sweetened iced tea at the parks? Where? So I can add them to my list of must-do stops. Thanks in advance.

Garden Grill and Trail's End both have Sweet Tea.

I just found out about GG this last trip. I didn't know they had sweet tea, and, was quite pleased with it.

One thing I have noticed is that some of the restaurants around the world showcase have odd teas. The tea in Mexico and Morocco have a different taste (not better or worse) than say "le Cellier". The first time I noticed this was at St Angel's after munching some salsa and dip. At first I thougth it was an interaction with the flavors (not a bad one at all!), but, then I found the tea in Morocco had a simular flavor. It could be Nestea, it could be something else.

I too am a Southerner and love Sweet Tea, but, I also love a nice strong unsweet (and un-iced) cold tea (I gave up sugar for Lent one year and that was the end of that!). Good tea has a natural sweetness that can stand on it's own.

What a great thread....DH and I love sweet tea, and having a list of places that serve it would be great!

I think I read on here once that Columbia Harbour House has sweet tea, but I'm not sure...maybe someone can confirm this?

In past years, we've had to go to the nearby Cracker Barrel to get it. But I was able to transition to un-sweetened awhile back. It was so hard that I imagine it was similar to coming off of crack. :scared: But now I could never go back.

However, me and DH are tea snobs. We can't stand anything but fresh-brewed. I'm hoping we can find it in some of the sit-down restaurants. It's really all we ever drink.

Sweet Tea is basically sugar water with tea flavoring.

What you need is some specialty teas with a small amount of sugar or other sweetener to enhance the flavor.

Thank you! Thank you for this thread! Garden Grill does have great sweet tea, and they filter their water, but I haven't found it anywhere else, so thank you for the tip on Epcot and MK. We also like to keep track of which places have filtered water so if anyone wants to chime in on that it would be appreciated. My DH has the better memory, I just remember Brown Derby has filtered water, but no sweet tea.

No unfortunately they do not, I asked while we were there. And I really wanted some!!!

I would have to agree with this comment.

The "iced tea" that comes out of the machines at WDW is essentially tea-flavoured water, and the quality just cant be compared with freshly brewed leaf tea.

Hence adding sweetner to the unsweetened version of these doesnt really diminish anything...just my opinion...give it a try!

P.S. I did find some nice specialty teas at WDW, however these were all 'hot' tea, not the iced version. (I guess you could add ice?? I didnt think of this at the time :) !)...

Oh, and just to add, there was a great specialty tea shop at Animal Kingdom. I cant recall the name but it was just near the new Yak & Yeti restaurant...

This doesn't really answer your question, but any iced tea fans out there HAVE to try the mint tea in Morocco if you haven't already. If you are there during Food and Wine, you get more from that booth than the regular booth.

One of those and a couple packs of Splenda - oh my! It's my new mandatory stop! I've been trying different mint teas from the store to see if any can replicate but so far I haven't come close. Guess I need to buy some actual mint leaves, LOL.

Great post. I may be from DE/PA but I drink sweet tea more than anything else. Up here I always have to get unsweetened tea, then add splenda. Yuck, but at least I save some calories! To me, its so weird being in the south (Orlando) and not seeing sweet tea. Definitely will hit up Cosmic Rays at the Magic Kingdom. There is only so much diet coke, coke, and unsweetened tea I can take in one week!

Your right- The Rainforest Cafe in AK and DTD does have great tea both sweetened and unsweetened! :yay:

If it's the same as what they serve in Marrekesh, it's a green tea with mint. Most mint teas you buy in the grocery store are either strictly mints, or black tea with mint. I'm almost positive that Celestial Seasonings has a mint green tea, though...maybe that would be closer?

But I agree...it was a really great tea.

I am not alone!!! :grouphug: It is so good to see others that are into tea as much as me!

I have gone around the World Showcase to try everyone's tea - both hot and cold. Still longing for my sweet tea.

I REALLY wanted to go to WDW today (crazy, I know with the crowds), but I woke up with a really sore throat this morning. So no Disney for me today. But I think after New Year's, I will take a try at looking everywhere for sweet tea at the Parks, and will post back.

Coming off sweet tea is like coming off of crack! Just don't do it! In fact, never try sweet tea if you have a sweet tooth.

Not to advertise for Gold Peak, but that's what I love about it - it does taste like fresh-brew, it's amazing. Some Targets have started carrying it in the bottle in the refrigerator cases near the registers.

Ahhh, you sound like my northern friend now going to school in Atlanta, and can't understand the Sweet Tea Addiction. He says it's to keep all the dentists employed in the South.

Oh, and just to add, there was a great specialty tea shop at Animal Kingdom. I cant recall the name but it was just near the new Yak & Yeti restaurant...

Yeah, been there. I was in Tea Overload that my mind went blank and I just ordered a Frozen Chai Latte. Those teas are almost all hot tea, and when I asked it I could have it iced (come on, it was like 90 degrees outside!), the CM just stared at me. But some hot tea sounds great right now!

Thanks for replying! I'll take any tea advice. I do drink other teas (mostly herbal ones). And I have tried the Mint tea in Morocco - not my bag because I actually tried real Moroccan mint tea while studying abroad and was in love. I asked a waiter about it not tasting real, and he confirmed what poster said above. If you want to try real Mint tea, the best I found was by Numi. (LOVE NUMI!!!) But be warned, if you don't like spearmint, people say it tastes like liquid toothpaste. Another really good mint tea is by Twinnings (I bought at the grocery store, not UK Epcot) - the Chamomile and Mint tea. It cuts the "toothpaste" taste, and is much more mild. But still delish!

I am not so concerned about the calories from all that sugar in sweet tea, but that I will become a diabetic! My northern friend teases me saying that I will have the first-ever case of sweet tea induced diabetes.

One thing I can't understand why Gold Peak (again, not advertising, just sharing) is not available everywhere is that it IS a Coke product. I was curious, so I looked it up the other day. So maybe they are just trying it out in a few places before taking it park-wide. I can hope.

Thanks to everyone for stopping, reading, and especially replying. If you have any other tea advice or comments, keep them coming. Happy New Year!

Somebody mentioned it, but I'll mention it again. Trails End at Ft. Wilderness has Sweet Tea.

The McDonalds right past the red light where you turn to go to Blizzard Beach has Sweetened Syrup....ummm, I mean Tea LOL It is so sweet it'll make your teeth hurt. I was glad to find some though as I'd had water all week and was tired of trying to add sugar to the tea they had at the POP food court :(

By the end of the week I'd figured it out LOL I would get my refillable mug, fill it with hot water from the dispenser, add 2 Lipton tea bags to perk for a minute or so, then add a few packs of sugar and stir till it dissolved. Then add ice, just be careful not to splash yourself with hot tea when you get the ice. I always used my other refillable mug to get the ice and then poured the tea over it. They have a few different types of tea bags at the food court, in little baskets.

I have an even harder to find request!!! I start my day every morning with a GIANT Arnold Palmer (for those who are not familiar, that's an unsweetened iced tea mixed with abt 1/4 lemonade. I prefer Light lemonade to save on calories). On our last trip we stayed at Coronado Springs. They have that nice food court which we passed everyday on our way to the buses, so I was able to fill my reusalbe mug with unsweetend tea, add the juice from a couple lemon wedges, and dump in a couple packets of Splenda. That worked perfectly. However this trip we're staying at Boardwalk Villas and Beach Club Villas. I have heard there is no good counter service at BWV. What's a caffeine addict to do?!?!?! I think I may have to have my own concoction in our room and make it before we head out. But who the heck wants to have to brew tea while on vacation? ANyone have any locations that might be able to support my Arnie habit?

YUCK.

We're big iced tea drinkers, but NOT sweet tea. Yes, I'm a northerner. If I accidentally end up with sweet tea, I spit it out! Ha.

I know lots of folks love it. My wife drinks iced tea with lemon but no sugar. I put plenty of sugar in mine....but only in the previously unsweetened iced tea!

I remember the iced tea at Boatwright's being particulary good.
