I am not alone!!!

It is so good to see others that are into tea as much as me!
One thing I have noticed is that some of the restaurants around the world showcase have odd teas. The tea in Mexico and Morocco have a different taste (not better or worse) than say "le Cellier". The first time I noticed this was at St Angel's after munching some salsa and dip. At first I thougth it was an interaction with the flavors (not a bad one at all!), but, then I found the tea in Morocco had a simular flavor. It could be Nestea, it could be something else.
I have gone around the World Showcase to try everyone's tea - both hot and cold. Still longing for my sweet tea.
What a great thread....DH and I love sweet tea, and having a list of places that serve it would be great!
I REALLY wanted to go to WDW today (crazy, I know with the crowds), but I woke up with a really sore throat this morning. So no Disney for me today. But I think after New Year's, I will take a try at looking everywhere for sweet tea at the Parks, and will post back.
In past years, we've had to go to the nearby Cracker Barrel to get it. But I was able to transition to un-sweetened awhile back. It was so hard that I imagine it was similar to coming off of crack.

But now I could never go back.
However, me and DH are tea snobs. We can't stand anything but fresh-brewed. I'm hoping we can find it in some of the sit-down restaurants. It's really all we ever drink.
Coming off sweet tea is like coming off of crack! Just don't do it! In fact, never try sweet tea if you have a sweet tooth.
Not to advertise for Gold Peak, but that's what I love about it - it does taste like fresh-brew, it's amazing. Some Targets have started carrying it in the bottle in the refrigerator cases near the registers.
Sweet Tea is basically sugar water with tea flavoring.
What you need is some specialty teas with a small amount of sugar or other sweetener to enhance the flavor.
Ahhh, you sound like my northern friend now going to school in Atlanta, and can't understand the Sweet Tea Addiction. He says it's to keep all the dentists employed in the South.
Oh, and just to add, there was a great specialty tea shop at Animal Kingdom. I cant recall the name but it was just near the new Yak & Yeti restaurant...
Yeah, been there. I was in Tea Overload that my mind went blank and I just ordered a Frozen Chai Latte. Those teas are almost all hot tea, and when I asked it I could have it iced (come on, it was like 90 degrees outside!), the CM just stared at me. But some hot tea sounds great right now!
This doesn't really answer your question, but any iced tea fans out there HAVE to try the mint tea in Morocco if you haven't already. If you are there during Food and Wine, you get more from that booth than the regular booth.
One of those and a couple packs of Splenda - oh my! It's my new mandatory stop! I've been trying different mint teas from the store to see if any can replicate but so far I haven't come close. Guess I need to buy some actual mint leaves, LOL.
Thanks for replying! I'll take any tea advice. I do drink other teas (mostly herbal ones). And I have tried the Mint tea in Morocco - not my bag because I actually tried real Moroccan mint tea while studying abroad and was in love. I asked a waiter about it not tasting real, and he confirmed what poster said above. If you want to try real Mint tea, the best I found was by Numi. (LOVE NUMI!!!) But be warned, if you don't like spearmint, people say it tastes like liquid toothpaste. Another really good mint tea is by Twinnings (I bought at the grocery store, not UK Epcot) - the Chamomile and Mint tea. It cuts the "toothpaste" taste, and is much more mild. But still delish!
Great post. I may be from DE/PA but I drink sweet tea more than anything else. Up here I always have to get unsweetened tea, then add splenda. Yuck, but at least I save some calories! To me, its so weird being in the south (Orlando) and not seeing sweet tea. Definitely will hit up Cosmic Rays at the Magic Kingdom. There is only so much diet coke, coke, and unsweetened tea I can take in one week!
I am not so concerned about the calories from all that sugar in sweet tea, but that I will become a diabetic! My northern friend teases me saying that I will have the first-ever case of sweet tea induced diabetes.
One thing I can't understand why Gold Peak (again, not advertising, just sharing) is not available everywhere is that it IS a Coke product. I was curious, so I looked it up the other day. So maybe they are just trying it out in a few places before taking it park-wide. I can hope.
Thanks to everyone for stopping, reading, and especially replying. If you have any other tea advice or comments, keep them coming. Happy New Year!
