I have a house built in 2000 with the original thermostats and furnace (new AC condenser installed last year). Recently I've noticed that the circulating fan kicks on for no apparent reason. We have 2 thermostats (1 upstairs, 1 down) that are set at 80 and 77 respectively. But, on several occasions the fan has kicked on when the temps are well below the 80/77 settings. The only way we can get the fan to turn off is by either flipping the breaker or flipping the emergency switch at the furnace.
Any ideas on what the problem might be? My DH suspects the thermostats might be the issue, but before we go spend a lot of money on thermostats I'd like to get some other opinions.
Thanks!

My first instinct is also the thermostat. If it's calling for heating or cooling when it's not at the right temperature for it, then it probably needs to be replaced, but, I'm not licensed, DH is, so that's only my opinion.
