Any Houston area experts out there?

I have a friend who is going on a cruise in December. They're contemplating whether to fly or drive from St. Louis. They have found some relatively decent airfares to get to Houston, but they haven't been able to find an economical way to get from the Houston airport to Galvaston where they get on the ship.

Is anyone familiar with an economical transportation service in that area?

I lived in Houston for many years but I have no idea how to get from Houston to Galveston for this cruise except via car. Can't they ask the cruise line for recommendations? It would seem like there would be a shuttle service of some kind between the Houston airport and the cruise ship terminal.

Thanks, Planogirl. They did find out about one option, but it wasn't very economical. I think they're probably going to end up driving down from St. Louis.
