ANy hope for a studio for 12/2-12/7

I had no idea that this time of year was busy. I invited my entire family to disney and now we are short 2 studios. (Long story) We just purchased the AKV points and I am hoping to have a chance at a room there since you can book there on 5/16. Anyone ever have luck with the waiting list ??

I think it is going to be a very long shot to get any more studios. I thought I read a thread where there was nothing currently at any resort for that time period, let alone a studio. And you are going to have a lot of competition for AKV.

RoseJ...congratulations on your AKV purchase! Yes, the time from Thanksgiving until New Years is a very busy DVC time. Be of good cheer, though. From now on you can be on the phone like many of us in January making the reservations at the 11 month window and having very good luck with booking during that time, at least at the home resort!

I hope you enjoy your AKV membership...it looks like it will be a great addition to the DVC family of resorts!

While December is very busy for DVC, two notes of encouragement:

1. SSR is opening up a new building--possibly next month. Try calling MS to see if they expect to have those accommodations ready to book, and if so when (it's possible that building is already "in booking," but it's also possible a whole new buliding's worth of villas will come into DVC inventory in another few weeks)

2. We've had incredible luck w/the waitlist over the past year we've owned...we had one waitlist for a different kind of room (std view 1-BR instead of PV 1-BR at BWV) that did not come through--but every single other W/L (5 all told) has come through--including for Thanksgiving Day itself when we didn't even start trying til 5 months out (when we bought in). And, most of the W/Ls came through pretty quickly--within 2 months...I did make a back-up cash reservation for T-giving (and the Wed before) in July--our W/L came through in August, tho, so canceled the cash reservation....

As usual, it depends on how flexible you are. We went on the wait lists for a studio in August 05 for an early December 05 reservation. We got days piecmeal for different resorts. We would take the day reservation, but stay on the list for something better. We also had cash reservations at SSR to back things up if we could not get all of our days. Things started coming in in September, and I believe we got our last day in early November. In the end we had 6 days in SSR and one day at BCV.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. Of course I called today and I am still on the waiting list. I think I will stop stalking MS for a few weeks....
