Any holiday car rental discount?

I only need a car for one day, just to drive to Fort Myers from Orlando. Right now I have a car for 122.00. I would love to save some money, has anyone found a better rate?

It's rare (as in virtually non-existent) for a car rental agency to offer a discount for a single 24 hour rental period. If anything, it'd have to be a weekend rental with a Saturday night included. Plus, really, with rental agencies having reduced their fleets to reflect the economic downturn in travel, there probably aren't a lot of cars available, period, to rent during the holidays.

I found $40 per day ($53 after taxes and fees) for a couple of days I tried. For one way rentals enter MCO in the search box, hit search then modify your drop off location to RSW. I found the discounts did not get applied if I hit the one way link.

Thank you so much for the link to the car rental site. I rented a car thru Budget, and am only paying 30.00 more for a 3 day rental, vs the one day that I absolutely needed! I did find that Alamo had lowered their rates too, but this worked out better for me. I knew I could find the help I needed here.
