Any hints to get a child to participate in a parade?

I have a child that really wants to be in a parade at Disney? Are there any hints on how this could happen? Does it ever happen or when it does is it just luck of the draw? Are there other things like a parade that takes audience participation somehow that a kid would like? Thanks

I dunno but i REALLY wanna be in a Disney parade!!! it's soooooo not fair, my brother and 2 sisters have all been in it but not me, and I'M the biggest Disney fan out of the lot of them! They don't like it nearly as much as me!

I think it's probably luck though...my brother and sisters were just picked out (on seperate visits though not all together at once)

The younger your kid is the more chance she or he has. Little girls are usually picked.If they smile that gives them a better chance too. A cute disney hat wouldn't hurt either.

We've been very fortunate. On both of our last two trips our girls were asked to participate in the magic kingdom parade.

We watched the parade in frontierland. This seems to be a spot where the parade stops regularly. We were parked right at the rope.

The first time the girls were 3 and 5. We were shocked that they were asked to dance in the parade. They got to play instruments in the parade and danced for quite a while.

The second time the girls were 5 and 7. I guess they were getting near over the hill as parade participants as my wife had to "encourage" the Disney parade cast members to pick our children. She did this by swinging her arms and pointing to our children.

Unfortunately, the only parade that I know of that you can be "picked" to join, other then Grand Marshalls, is the Jammin Jungle parade at AK. They pick families before the parade to ride on the floats. DCT did away with the parade stops in Feb. 2004 due to a tragic accident and I don't know about MGM's parade. Epcot doesn't have a parade.
