Any HIFS Questions?

We just got back from HIFS last Sunday. We were also right by the putt putt in building 11. They put us on the ground floor which we did find to be a little noisy. Next time I would ask for a higher floor. We were in 1103. Where were you??

I can't believe we've only been home for two weeks and I couldn't remember our room number! DH says it was 1129, last room on the second floor on the corner between the putt putt and the pool. Noise wasn't a problem, but we were so tired by the time we went to bed that we just zonked out. What did you think of the hotel? How did your 3 year old train fan like it? Was it what you expected? It's interesting to hear different peoples impressions...everything from "I loved it" to "I hated it". Fill me in on yours!

I am so glad when anything comes up about HIFS as we will be staying there May 12-19,(anyone else out there at the same time?). (We may stay away from the eggs!) Thanks to all the help from this board, I feel our trip is coming together, $89 for HIFS,(50+ rate!), Classic Suite; $150., Thrifty Car Rental-(Sam's card helped the most there!), try it, I was surprised that most of the car companies had some sort of discount with it. Is there anything within walking distance of the hotel? What kind of maps would I need to get to get my directions down pat? Was thinking of finding a city map and am a little confused by the toll roads. We also plan trips to SeaWorld, and Univeral & IOA. Would love a side trip to a beach, any ideas there? Just received my 2001 Passporter book, Thursday, and it is a great help also, if anyone needs a guidebook, plan to carry it along everyday, plus pin my lime green ribbon on somewhere! My biggest worry now is the airlines, yeap, flying Delta out of KC! Hope we can get there in mid-May! Any help is appreciated and thanks again for all I have had so far!

I remember that there was nothing within walking distance to the hotel. Although it was an easy drive to the parks... I felt like we were in the middle of nowhere as opposed to the International Drive area. Good Luck! JDM

We were new to Orlando during our visit in March and got lost several times. We found that watching for the Orlando World Center signs (Marriott) was a big help. The Marriott is right across the street and is very tall, so it provided a good goal for us to find. It is the only thing in the area (walking distance). There was a Walgreens about a mile away and the front desk gave us directions to stock up on snacks and bottled water. Have a great trip!
