My dd is required to audition for the high school talent show because she is a member of the showchoir. Obviously, she sings - but she really doesn't want to do a solo.

Anyone out there in DISland know of a funny short skit or jokey type thing she could do? Either solo or a very small group?

Sure could use some help with ideas!!!!

they had two girls doing a Shirley Temple song........On the good Ship Lollipop with those big lollipops and then they did a little dance like Shirley Temple would of done ......costumes were short short skirts and socks and shoes. Big bow in their hair

A friend and I once did the old Abbot and Costello "Who's on First" routine for a HS talent show. It went over so well we were later asked to perform it again for a charity show. Its a bit challenging to learn (timing is everything in this routine), but its hilarious and still brings the house down after all these years. It takes about 5 minutes to perfrom It only needs 2 people (a straight man (Abbot) and a fallguy (Costello))

Here is a link to the full script of the routine:

:rotfl2: .......................................I'm thinking no.

This takes more people, but the staff at my kid's school did an "Americal Idol" skit that was hilarious.

My friends and I won our HS talent show with a scene from the play Done to Death by Fred Carmichael.

The play is about a bunch of mystery writers who are trying to solve a crime (think Clue) and there are scenes in which they tell what they think happened. One is a old style detective short (think Maltese Falcon) that we did for the show. There are 2 female and 1 male part.

Any chance you have a script?

They didn't give the showchoir kids much notice that this audition was required. It's Monday!

My son and one of his friends did a scene from Napoleon Dynamite that brought down the house: Pedro's campaign speech and ND's dance.

ME?? 'Cause I do.

I also have 3 scenes from a one-act called Two Small Fries to go.

One calls for 2 females and 2 males
The second 1male and 1 female
The 3rd is a female monologue.

If you have a way to receive a fax I'd be happy to fax them asap.

A few weeks ago I watched a Mad TV episode where they did a couple of girls competing in a little girls' beauty pageant. They wore the typical little girl dresses, and for the talent portion, one of them bit cheese squares to the shapes of US states. It was hysterical! One of the other "contestants" called out to the judges, "hey, shes' only doing the square states!", then the girl bit some cheese and said it was her grand finale. She made them guess what it was and it was ... Chesus! Too funny...might be a good idea - I know I'd laugh!

Some great ideas here - please keep them coming!

RadioNate, I sent you a pm.

Thanks!
