Any guests arriving November 1 to 30 receive FP+ testing invites?

Thanks for the reply. On a side note, I was under the impression that if I chose not to use a FP+ for a particular day, I would be able to use my tickets for FP- (I think that is what you guys are calling it). Is that not the case? In other words if I opt in for the MyMagic+, will I no longer be able to use FP-? I have been reading and doing research, but still have questions. Thanks.

At this point, people are still getting the KTTW cards and can use those to pull regular FP. At some point, those will go away and you will only be able to use FP+. When that is, no one knows just yet. If you don't schedule FP+ for a certain day, you can still schedule them via the phone app or using a kiosk in the park.

Thanks again. Last question for now...

Can you get a KTTW card if you have the bands? And can you use the KTTW card for FP- in conjunction with FP+?

Only in November when Disney is still in the 'testing' phase. After that, who knows. :confused3

Awesome. Thanks. Just made our reservations last week for 11/2-11/9 for FWC and I received an invite today for MM+ and customized my bands earlier today prior to the invite. Pretty excited but concerned. We are one of those that easily gets 4-6 FP- a day, so only being limited to 3 FP+, let alone with so many more things that FP+ are good for, has us a little concerned.

About 2 weeks ago I saw on MDE that I could customize magic bands and make FP+ reservations for our trip to PC (arriving 11/5). MDE said I had to customize bands by 10/6 (which I did) so now MDE says the bands are customized and will be shipped soon. I also made FP+ reservations for each day of our trip.

Today I got an invite in the mail to participate in My Magic + telling me to customize bands by 10/25. Go figure. I guess if the bands I ordered don't arrive in the next two weeks I will call to make sure the order I placed through MDE is valid.

It is valid. There are two systems (bands and letters) that are crossing in the mail. It is happening to most of us.

If you had to customize your bands by 10/6 they should be shipped tonight and you should have them tomorrow morning. :)

Do you need to do online check in to customize MagicBands? I made all my Fastpass + selections and I see tab on MDE but I don't have the option to customize.

No you do not have to do online check in to do your bands.

I can confirm. I was able to customize my bands at 65 days, which is prior to when I would be able to check-in online.

Coincidentally, yesterday when I logged into MDE I got the pop-up window that said I could customize my bands now. Disney was a little behind on that one. :lmao:

The turnstiles are different. The RFID turnstiles look like this:

So, the new "turnstyles" are just a scan your band and walk through type? No, metal bar rolly thingy to walk through?

Correct, there is no bar or physical barrier to walk through. You do have to scan your finger as you did with the old system. If your finger Id's you correctly, the "Mickey head" lights up and you can enter.

Thanks for this info...

But now I have another question. I am guessing you have to use the same finger to scan each time (same as the old entry), right? So, what I am wondering is... which wrist to wear the MB on. If I wear it on the right wrist then I would scan the left index finger... so the first time I use it I better know which wrist "feels right". Any thoughts? Are the polls for park entry and FP+ rides set up to make it easier to have the MB's on a certain wrist? And wondering about wearing it on the same wrist as my watch.

I know this sounds silly... I was just wondering... :scratchin

I never received an email to test the bands but when I logged into MDE and clicked on MB it let me customize all of our bands and I was able to reserve my FP+.

I assume you have to use the same finger, like it always has been.

You can keep your band on the same side as your "scanning" finger. I used my right arm for both. It does not matter which arm you put your band on- you can switch. You do not scan your band and finger simultaneously, if that is your concern. Perhaps you are picturing having to creatively twist your hand around to do this. But actually you have a few seconds to scan your finger after scanning your band.

I believe the scanners were on both sides. But I never remember any problem feeling like my band was on the wrong side.

I used the band all week in August and never had any problems with the "wearing" of it.

There have been reports that the scanners do not work as well with bands worn on the right wrist. I would wear it on the left and scan one of your right hand fingers.

Yes! That is what I was picturing! :lmao: Thank you for putting my mind at ease..

Thanks! I was wondering if there was a "best" wrist. :thumbsup2
