We just booked our second 4-night cruise on a split of points and cash. Can we still expect to receive a gift for castaway club members? Are there any other benefits we can expect onboard for being DVC members or castaway club members?
You will get the Casatway Club towel and two Castaway Club Pins. When you check in there will be a special line for Castaway Club guests. You don't have to go to that line. My suggesstion to you: when you check in at the terminal make sure they have you listed as a Castaway Club member. On our second cruise they did not have my sister listed and they did not receive their goodies. It was easily remedied!
Also you will receive an invitation to a DVC get together and a Castaway CLub get together. Others can correct me if I am wrong, but if you are not sailing on points, you do not receive an invite to the DVC one. Presumably because they don't know you are DVC! These get togethers have free drinks and some appetizers and may have other goodies as well.
Have a great time!
Kelly
On our 10/11/03 cruise the DVC get-together was listed in the daily Navigator which leads me to believe that even those members not cruising on points were welcome to come.
We were cruising on points and received some lanyards in our room, which I'm guessing you wouldn't get if you were cruising on cash.
All DVC members are welcome at the members party on the ship. It is listed in the Navigator. DVC members cruising on points receive a special invitation in their stateroom in addition to the Nav. announcement.
Castaway club members (repeat DCL sailors) get the towel and pins (or whatever the current gift is) in their stateroom. In addition, you are invited to a party with the captain and officers. You have the option of using the special check in line (but other lines may be shorter depending on when you arrive.)
Do they offer the DVC and repeat sailer gatherings on the 4-night cruise or just the 7-night. I didnt recall the DVC event when we sailed 9/02 on 4-night
