Have to get my kids passports for this summer..

I know sometimes the drugstores have coupons for the passport photo - anyone know of any?

You can get them at Walgreens for like $14 I think regular price. That's where I got mine, and I have yet to send them in, I better do that soon. Seems kind of high for what you're getting, seems like passport pics are just expensive.

I do know people who have done it themselves and it worked... that would cost next to nothing. If you get the specs right, it will work. I don't know how hard that is to do though.

If you have AAA, check to see if they will do your passport photos for free. I know that the Canadian version of AAA does them for free with your membership.

I just did it myself. Digital camera, some photo editing software and an ink jet color printer.

Check with wherever you are getting your passports. I got mine last year at the local library & they took the pictures for free when I went in to fill out the paperwork.

I agree about Costco. It was the best price I could find anywhere, even over AAA prices.

I had heard of people taking them at drugstores, etc and then getting to the office to turn in their paperwork and them not being theright size, coloring, or whatever so I just had mine taken at the passport office. I don't remember what it cost, but compared to the price of the passport, it wasn't much.

We did ours at CVS pharmacy...mostly for the convenience of it. I can't recall the pricing...but was between $10-15.

I did mine on my own, using a website that gets the dimentions correct for you. Super easy!!

1) Take photo with any camera against white wall
2) upload to your PC
3) go to www.epassportphoto.com and follow the instructions

The website will size your face properly for the passport guidelines and create a 4x6 photo sized image with 6 2x2 blocks of your same face. You then just print out that 4x6 photo image ay any drug store, WalMart, whatever.

Easy peasy, and costs just the cost of printing your photo at wherever you print them!

I just had mine done at CVS -- 2 for 7.99. There's a coupon on the website you have to print out to get that price and you have to have their extra care card. But they guarantee them to be accepted and if not you can bring the receipt back (with proof of unacceptance) and get a refund.

We went to Walgreens, but when we got to the passport office at our local library, they said they do them for free. My son's photo had to be remade & they did his for free.

This is a timely thread for us - we need to get passports for 2 of our kids and I was wondering where to go for the photo. We went to AAA last year and they charged me $8 for each set, then had to retake them twice for my son, so I decided not to go there anymore. I think I will try the epassportphoto.com place that was mentioned above and see how that works out.

I was just looking at the site, and am wondering if I should get the Passport Card too? I can't really tell why there is the "book" AND the "card"... Is there a need at all to have both of them??

Any help appreciated! :)

I personally wouldn't get card unless you vist Canada or MExico a lot via land. The book gets you anywhere in world via plane, train, cand, bus, boat. The card is only good via land to Canada, Mexico and I believe Bahamas. your state may offer an enhanced dl which is basically same as card but cheaper.
