I've been thinking about odd gifts that might have been a hit in our family, and honestly, couldn't think of anything. I know my kids so well that I knew they'd love everything I got them. I have 2 teens and I can actually pick their clothing out quite easily and they always love it. HDTVs, iPods, tools (for son), etc.. I knew would all be big hits.
Then it hit me. I bought my son one of those dangling (from the hood of a car) lights so he could work on his car after dark. He never even thought about asking for one, but back in the summer, he and his friends were at a friend's house and had to stop working on someone's car because it was too dark. At that time, I knew I'd be buying him that light for Christmas and he was literally blown away that I'd (his mother) would ever think of such a thing. He loves it. He also loves the other tools he got, but he asked for those (and I HATE buying buying tools, they are SOOOOOO danged expensive). It really makes me sick to buy them. LOL 2 Hollister sweatshirts, or a set of wrenches?
