Any gifts that were a surprise hit???

Got the air hogs for DS' (24 and 21 yrs old!! :rotfl2: one friend said "I love where we live in an age where its possible to have a remote control car that goes on the ceiling - AWESOME!!)

a "bug" from Toys R Us (no zhu zhu but same concept - think of a computer chip that 'vibrates' - it moves like crazy) crazy funny!

but the gift that was the best for me - DH adopted a dog for me!! :goodvibes It was the hardest thing he had to do - keep it a secret! he kept it at DS house - they helped him pick it out - and care for it - he takes Zues outside, takes him to the vet... plays with him.. what a beautiful thing!

DS got a "boot" a hand blown glass for beer - handmade in Germany - it holds 2L of beer - dh got him the 5L can of German Beer!! VERY fun!!

My DS is pretty spoiled and got a lot of really nice things that he is having a blast playing with. However his favorite item was the self inflating whoopee cusion that "santa" picked up for $3 :rotfl:

OMG - I remember giving our DS' that too - it lasted for a week - hilarity - us adults just kept shaking our heads!!

My Dad and I got my Mom an electric wine bottle opener, it was by far the best gift for her! She's wanted one for awhile, but never would buy it for herself. She had to go open a new bottle of wine just to try it out and see how it works! :rotfl:

My parents surprised me with a new wallet. I knew ahead of time what I was getting (a new purse) because I picked it out and was there when Mom bought it, but she wanted to make sure I still had something to open on Christmas, so she got me a new wallet that I've been wanting. I was super surprised! :goodvibes

The dvd for Twister! I said something in passing about hunting down a copy of it along with the NCIS soundtrack cd.

My granddaughter 6 yrs loves the hello kitty purse we got her. She has several other purses but hardly ever played with them. She hasn't put this one down, carries it all over the house with her.

Pop the Pig. It was the only thing I asked for for Christmas. I love pigs!
Who knew that we would have so much fun playing it!:confused3 I swear we have played it 9 million times already and it never gets old. I love this game!:cutie:

My parents got my niece all sorts of things - a roll up piano, a Fancy Nancy Doll and Book, art supplies...what was the three-year-old's favorite? Her Tinkebelle Umbrella and Matching (ish) Galoshes from her Aunt and Uncle! (That would be DH and ME!) She wore the galoshes all day yesterday, all day today, and she has learned to open and close the umbrella and carries it with her EVERYWHERE.

I think we have a hit! YAY!

Early present from my mom:

Yes...it's a replica of Ralphie's Pink Bunny Suit, but without the hood. :rotfl:

Surprise hit this year:

Mom wanted...a pirate flag pirate: :confused3 :lmao:

And I'm supposing that it's the best loved Jolly Roger on land or sea :rotfl:

DH never buys me clothes or handbags or anything because he says he doesn't think he'd know what I'd like...I always just get gift cards to stores I like.

Well, this year he totally surprised me and bought me the Dooney and Bourke Disney bag and wristlet! I was totally surprised, he asked a million times "do you like it, do you like it?!" He said he knew I'm a handbag junkie and he knew I loved Disney and when they came out with the bag, he was one of the first people to buy it so they wouldn't sell out! I love how much he thought about it, and I was totally surprised!

Mom cried at the photobook I made her. The kids were THRILLED over the scarves i made and me..... I got a pooping monkey that I played with all night. It makes monkey noises then says "UH OH" as the candy falls out. So goofy (but I love it)

I got my Mickey Coffee Scoop! I saw it at DL back in Sept. and forgot to buy it before we left. Just in conversation about coffee scoops, I know strange topic of conv. but that's just us :dance3: DSIS said she had our grandmothers and I said I wanted the mickey scoop I saw at DL. Do to finances we agreed not to exchange gifts this year but Christmas eve she handed me an odly wrapped gift and said just open it with a :).
This is just the best gift!!!! :santa::yay: I love, love, love it.

My new TV. My old one has been on it's last leg now a month. My parents surprised me with my new one on Christmas Eve.

Purple fuzzy slippers and a book mark from the dollar tree were huge hits with DD. She wore the slippers all day on Christmas even to dinner at grandmas with her fancy dress. She told me she has wanted a bookmark her whole life and no one has ever gotten her one :rotfl2: (she's 6)

Well, not this year, but on a Christmas long, long, ago, in a galaxy far, far away, we all (about 20 of us) got wax lips. Big red grinning ones, smaller pursed pink ones, some with buck teeth, some with wax cigarettes hanging out, but all were hilarious! This year, I got the dreaded family Chia Pet, which has been re-gifted since the 80's. It was stuffed into the box that my (much asked for...actually demanded) Shark Steam Mop came in. Kids. :(

Believe it or not, my DS11 absolutely loves his new football! It's such a basic gift - no batteries, no graphics, no sound effects. But he loves it. He keeps asking for someone to go outside and throw it with him. We took him to the field at his school to play and one of his classmates was there. He showed him his new football and then the two of them played catch for a while. Nice to see kids excited about something other than video games!!!

My DS7 loves his HESS Car within a Car. It took Santa a lot of days to get his hands on one! It was worth it.

Oh my goodness ... your DS will be one of those teen millionaires!! That's so awesome. :goodvibes I never knew a 10 year old who was interested in starting a business. :thumbsup2

yeah, he's different that way. Since he was about 5 he's always been coming up with different ways to make money. The businesses change depending on the day, but the end result is always the same, he has a zillion dollars in the bank. he promises that when he makes his first million he's gonna buy me a red mustang convertible AND pay my speeding tickets for a full year. He knows his mama well LOL

My sister and I each had gotten 6 light pink goblets from my grandma when she was cleaning out her hutch. My sister's husband broke one of hers at Thanksgiving. I wrapped up my 6 and gave them to her as one of her gifts. She started crying!!! I didn't expect that at all. She was just so grateful. That was really nice.

I got DH some Lincoln Logs. Now there is a 30 year old man under the tree building forts and recreating civil war battles in the living room. I think he needs some chicken nuggets and chocolate milk for dinner. :upsidedow
