Any "gifts" at a DVC sales presentation?

In 2000 we got a few fast passes.

When we bought in to BLT in May, they gave us 4 instant fastpass cards each with 4 fastpasses on them. Seriously though, we just spent $25,000.00, you think they'd give you a little something extra. Oh well. Sorry, forgot about the ice cream. OK, now I'm happy.

Back in 2005, two of my friends went on the tour on Wednesday and they got a $100 gift card. On that Friday morning, another couple in our group took the tour and also got $100. I took the tour a couple of hours later on Friday. Me? I got an ice cream cone! I always figured it was because they bought on the spot and I took a few months to make up my mind. But now I'm not so sure...

In January of this year we toured at Disneyland to see the new VGC and we got fast passes. The gift card came upon purchase into BLT later that week

When we toured in November 08 we got $100 and ice cream. I asked my CM about the cash and she explained that the gift was different depending upon where you stayed. Apparently, anybody staying at a DVC site (we were in AKL) got the bigger gift. That may have also been the case at any deluxe resort, I didn't ask about that. Later in the trip we bought and received the fastpasses.

While staying at AKL in July 2008, we toured and received fastpasses (ice cream was offered as well). No complaints; at that point in our trip, the fast passes were more valuable than cash.

Can you make arrangments to attend the DVC before taking your trip?

We are checking into the Poly on July 5th and my husband received an email invitation today for a tour of BLT. It was an invitation for several different days that are available while we'll be there. He forwarded it to me and you better believe I RSVP'd! The invitation said there would be characters, games, give-aways, and kids club for the little ones. I'm excited about it. We've been toying with the idea of buying into DVC, but we've never actually gone on a tour or listened to a sales presentation.

We got the same email and we are members. We RSVPd b/c we had a "non park" day for one of the dates offered and thought the kids might enjoy it and if we get a gift that would be cool!

Thanks for all the great responses! I thought anyone that purchases DVC would recieve something, but how about us "looky loos"? I would not mind taking the presentation just to get a few gifts. We will most likely buy resale anyways when the economy improves.

When we went to the presentation (still deciding if we are going to do it), on 6/25 we received 5 $15 gift cards. We were told that we could have received 3 fastpasses, but we were leaving that day.

We just did the tours and got nothing! It still was a great tour!

We stayed in the Contemporary in December and had an offer for $100 in gift cards if you toured the models. We had just recently bought resale and had never done the tour so we thought we would see if we could learn anything. We were also interested in buying into AKV and had hoped there would be a good enough incentive to buy again. There wasn't so we bought resale again. They also offered us ice cream and brought us back to our requested location.
