Hi guys,

Me and 3 friends (early 20's) are visiting Disneyland/CA Adventure. I've been there 6 times, but my friends have never been in a disney park in their lives - and may never get to go back. We're only going for 1 day, mid-January on a Friday. Any tips? Two tend to be skeptical and not "get into" the magic much. We're young with tonnes of energy, so I'm picking the best rides and then using ridemax to fit in as many as we can.

If you want to ride RSR, you should get there at opening and get a FP. We also enjoy Ca Screamin, Soarin, Star Tours, SM, Indy...and so many more.
You may want to consider the Welcome to Disneyland tour. It is reasonably priced, and the history may be interesting to the first timers.

What is ridemax? never heard of that.

my suggestions:
1.make sure you camera/phone battery is charged. if you need to charge,go to the lockers on main st. $2.00 for an hour I think.

2.wear comfy shoes you ve walked miles in, its easy to walk a few miles in a day at DLR.

3.Forget your diet. Eat the stuff you cant get at home : Matterhorn Macaroons, Giant Mickey Suckers, Pomme Frites at Cafe Orleans.

4.Make a reservation for at least 1 killer sit down meal :Blue Bayou, Cafe Orleans, Carthay Circle, Wine Country trattoria... The last 2 offer World of Color dinner packages, kill 3 birds with 1 stone. a. you need to eat anyway,b.you will get pretty good spot for WOC, c. you can drink in DCA...

5.Get there early, and plan to stay late. Do all your shopping after the park officially closes, they give you an extra hour to shop .

6.Try to ride the Lilly belle, ask the conductor at the Main St. Station.
7.Get a 1st visit button at City Hall on Main ST.
8.Bring more $$$ than you think you will need. there is more stuff in DLR that you will want ....
9. Bring a sweater or jacket, it gets cold on the Rivers of America when you are watching Fantasmic! <<<<DO NOT MISS FANTASMIC! :) Usually , 2 shows nightly,Fri-Sun.
10.I would suggest Fireworks first on Main St. and then hustle over to New Orleans Square for Fantasmic second show.
11.Be a DISNEY commuter... Park at Mickey and Friends, Tram it to the Parks, take a stroll up Downtown Disney, hop on the Monorail, which delivers you to tomorrowland station, youll get a nice view of a lot of stuff. Then , just jaunt next door to the train, you can take it all the way around the park.
We use it to skip crowds when the fireworks are ending, and the mass exodus is leaving the park , via main st. we just hop on at Main St. station, get off at New Orleans SQ. and viola... get some pop corn, and a hot cocoa and wait for 2nd show of Fantasmic!
12. Have I mentioned, that you should watch fantasmic! lol
13. If you are planning on riding Splash!, earlier the better, nothing is worse than squishing and shivering the rest of the night in wet clothes...
and of course, have a plan.....get fastpasses!!! and have a wonderful time!pixiedust:
