Any experiences with parking at EWR?

We're trying to figure out how to get to EWR at the end of the month. Using a car service both ways would cost us about $500. :earseek:

Has anyone ever used long-term parking at Newark? How does it work? It looks like it would cost $10/24-hour period. My company also has an agreement with AviStar, which is off EWR property. That would cost $11.59 a day. But, it seems like it's guarded and the car might be better taken care of.

Have you ever used any of these services? Is it safe? Is it difficult to navigate with 2 little ones and LOTS of luggage?

TIA!

I just returned last month from a trip out of ewr and used avistar mclellean., that are two sites when you look them up. the experience was seamless. There was an internet coupon for a free day on their site. but I think it worked out to the same as your company discount. I was literally in my terminal, five to six minutes after I pulled up and dropped off my car, it seemed to easy and I also had no problem at pick up, just call the number on the ticket and they will tell you where to go and the car was waiting. I heard that the long term parking at ewr has twenty minute shuttles and if you miss it you will wait twenty minutes. i waited not even two outside ewr and boarded my shuttle and returened to find a safe care. good luck

We use Avistar Haines Avenue with my company discount. You are in and out quickly and the shuttle drops you off at the curb. They are gated and they give you a coin to open up the gates. We like them.

We always use the extended parking at EWR!...You parl in a fenced lot, then a shuttle brings you over to the terminal! It usually cost $10-11 a day! It is not avistar, it is part of the airport transit authority!

We use Avistar on Haines Ave. and are very satisfied with them. They offer a AAA rate which is about $11-12 a day. Very efficient shuttles. We have never waited long either going or coming for the shuttle.

I've parked at both EWR (but on the monorail line) and Avistar. Both are very easy. EWR was about $20 a day though - be sure to keep that money in a separate part of your wallet so you don't spend it! I felt both were safe. I liked EWR monorail because you don't have to wait for a shuttle. You just take your bags to the platform and a monorail comes along. If you have alot of bags though, it can be difficult.

Thanks for all of the information - it's great. I'm still concerned about our bags. Does anyone know if DH can drop me and the kids at the terminal for curb-side check in, then go park himself?

Thanks!

Yes your DH can drop you at terminal then park. That's what we do. We use curbside checkin then DH parks the car meets us inside.

Yes, I've used long term parking at Newark. I had no problem at all. I only live 5 miles from airport so it is cost effective if I just use a limo/taxi>
