Any experience with DME and change in res. no?

Everyone, one night of my waitlist came through for my Nov trip, which caused MS to change my reservation number since I now have a combo of cash and points (see my other thread). I just got my DME luggage tags yesterday and they have the original confirmtion number on them. Here's the problems:

1. DVC says there is no need for new tags, and that DME will be able to get the luggage to me at the resort with the old number on the tags, and that it will somehow be linked in the computer (we are still at the same resort).

2. DME says call DVC and get new tags because the lady said: "I would not want to use tags with the incorrect resort confirmation number on them."

Does anyone have experience with this? I tend to believe MS and not the DME, but since my parents are involved in this, it will NOT be pretty if I recommend DME to them and their luggage is lost.

call back MS and tell them what DME says.

DME will verify your reservation information when you check in at the airport and can make any notations needed at that time.

You should be fine with the tags you already have.

I would call MS back and have them put in for a new one and here's why.

From what I heard on another post is that they cancelled your original Ressie number (the tags you have are linked to them )and started you over with a new one.

ME can't accept walk-ups anymore and thats what you would be because when they pulled up your old Ressie# (on your Me package) it would not be valid as it's cancelled.

Then they would ask for the new numbers(cash and points ) and none of the would have ME linked to them. So they could not let you on and would send you to Mears to pay and walk on the same bus.

Call MS and let them know this and they will do the change if not call ME back and explain what MS says maybe they can add your new Ressie #'s at that time.

I would not put those tags on the luggage unless directed to do so from ME.

I just recieved our for our OCT trip but switched resorts in the mean time ME had me the correct new set in 4 business days. But I was told that sicne my Ressie # did not change I could use the old tags and cross out the Mickey head and resort.

But your Number did change and thats the difference.
