Like everyone else I'm trying to find the best rates for our Nov/Dec trip. AirTran has a 1 way rate of $98 from Boston to Orlando.

Anyone have experience flying this airline?

Thanks!

We're trying them out for the first time in Nov also, but flying out of NY.

I booked about 3 weeks aago, and just found lower fares of their website. They just gave me a $700 credit for future flights.

Do you get assigned seats or do you need to get there early and get them. My flight leaves at 6:00 AM so I already need to get there in the middle of the night!

When I booked our tickets, the only rates that were available were the ones that you selected the seats for. When I called this morning and they gave me the credit they told me I still get to keep my seats.

We've flown AirTran several times and were very happy with them. You can go online 24 hours before your flight and pick your seats and print out your boarding passes. We would definitely fly with them again.

We've flown them before and went online 24 hours ahead of time to pick the seats, they were great. For our return flight, the conceirge at the hotel went online for us to pick our seats. Have fun.

My only caution with AirTran is when they change a flight, they fail to notify the customer. Be sure and check your reservation on the website when your dates get close. We leave for DL next saturday. I booked tickets in March . Early August I was double checking all my reservation numbers, etc and found that they had changed my return flight. Initially I we were leaving at 1:20. The new time was 10:15. It has been three weeks since I noticed the change and I have yet to be contacted by AirTran of the change.

Same thing happened in 2005. I had 5 different reservations that I had made for the family w/me as the point of contact. They called 2 days before the flight left to inform that one of the reservations changed. Never notified me on the other 4 reservations.

I'm waiting to see if they contact me in the next week and if not, I'll be filing a complaint. I've never had a problem on the flights themselves, but the customer service leaves something to be desired.

We are flying them for the first time in January. I will go online 24 hours prior to choose our seats.

I couldn't pass up the great rate I got, so I've decided to give them a try.
