I find that this hotel have excelents rates. Is near any food local?
and is near disney? Are the rooms very clean and well maintenience? So many questions right!!!!! :)

There are a few different Howard Johnsons. Were you looking at one in particular? The Howard Johnson Maingate East on hwy. 192 is nice and clean and quiet. There's an IHOP in the same parking lot where kids eat free. The ride to WDW is about 10 minutes.

Howdy!
We stayed at the Howard Johnson on Lake Cecile about 3 years ago. If this is the one you are considering, RUN to a different hotel! It was AWFUL! We, too, stayed there because of their low rates but it wasn't worth it. We never felt "safe", (we later found out a woman had been attacked in the hotel next door) had the maid barge in on us, the room was filthy, the pool was cold and dirty and just an all-around bad experience. I wrote a letter to Howard Johnsons, expressing my dissatisfaction. They forwarded it to the hotel who responsed with a poorly executed letter denying that the conditions existed and ignoring our other complaints. I wrote back to the Corporate Howard Johnsons and basically received a "oh well" from them. I'm usually not quick to complain but since this is how Howard Johnson's handles unhappy customers, we will NEVER stay with them again....and we haven't!

If you are looking for a good deal, try Priceline! We did that the following year and were VERY pleased at our $35 Hyatt! Hope this helps!!

At the I-drive hojo's I booked a room for $50 a night inc tax, 2 adult breakfast buffets daily, and trans to the parks... Sweet:D

HoJos is a well known national chain. I trust their reputation to provide us with 2 big enough clean beds and a clean bathroom with polite staff and a wake up call if we request it. Thats all I really need. The free breakfast and transport is an added convenience. I expect it to be like the Days Inns Ive stayed in many times. FYI~ The time I stayed at the Disney Movies Resort, the actual room itself was just as ordinary as the Days Inn. It was however more convenient with a nice food court and nicer grounds, I dont know how much that mattered :)

My trip isnt coming up for awhile yet, but I will be sure to report back when I return with a cleanliness report :D

We stayed at the HoJo @ the airport. It was GROSS! There were dead bugs everywhere. Our door wouldn't close all the way. Our 8:00 wake-up call came at 5:00. The worst thing about our room was that there was "SOMETHING" splattered all over the walls. I think it was urine. I was afraid I was going to catch some disease from being in that room. I couldn't sleep just thinking about it. We should have demanded another room, but we didn't since it was just for the last night of our trip. The hotel was being renovated, so hopefully it has gotten better.

We stayed at the HoJo Maingate this past week. Two nights-2/12 and 13.

I was quite disappointed. We had to change rooms twice due to a broken TV and them putting us in a smoking room when we have to have a nonsmoking room due to my son's asthma. My son got sick after being in the smoking room overnight and had to be taken to the Dr. the next day. He has since had to have chest x-rays since we have been home and has bronchitis.

My complaint was treated as silly, I heard a man in the background while I was on the phone the first time say that it was silly for us to have to change to a nonsmoking room for one night.

Very unhappy with them.

While checking out I also overheard the couple in front me complaining about the faucet in their room not working and a light being blown out their entire stay.

Wow, I'm surprised. We have stayed with them a total of 20 days over a couple of years and never had a problem. That is not right that they treated you like that. I hope some of your trip was good, and I hope your son feels better.

Thanks, our trip was really wonderful in spite of a few problems. It hasn't put us off from wanting to go again but we feel more experienced now. lol

You can read my trip report, the link is in my sig line.

Yikes! Talk about your adventure filled trips. You had a touch of everything happen, didn't you? You sound like you have a wonderful attitude about it all though. Tell your little guy "welcome home!";)
