While reading the post by the wonderful knowledgable people at the wdw forums :disrocks: I came across a post with renting a car for 1 day. Which would be perfect to get us from the airport for one reservation and then to pick up one at the Dolphin for a day to get us back to the airport. Has anyone done this and how hard is this to do? And where is the desk for the Alamo at the Dolphin? Thanks everyone.

I did this with National Rental car...(I think they also own Alamo?)

I went with National because they had better feed-back from people that rented from both Alamo & National in the past.(but probably not a big deal which ever company you use)

It is very easy to drop off and pick up cars at the Dolphin. Sometimes the line can be long at 9:00am so book your pick-up time a little early

All Dolphin employees can direct you around the corner to Guest Services which is where the Rental Car office is located.

Drop-off is at the main entrance with any bell-hop they will give you a recipt.

DH & I just returned from WDW. We flew in from Boston to Tampa, rented a car @ ALAMO and visited with family and then drove to WDW. We first drove to AKL and unpacked all the luggage and then easily dropped the car off at Disney's Car Care Center and they shuttled us to the Parks. SIMPLE and EASY. I found some great fab deals with Alamo through Mousesavers hence us going with Alamo. :Pinkbounc

I guess we will go with this route. That way we still can go to the outlet malls to see what bargains we can pick up.
