Any DVCers live in Central Florida?

We're seriously considering a move to the Greater Orlando area because of a good job opportunity for DH. Obviously the weather is a bonus, and WDW, too. I think we should keep our DVC and use it for trips to Vero and HHI, and occasional short trips to WDW. Any other DVCers live in central Florida and still use points to stay at WDW?

I do!! I live in Apopka, it is a 20 min drive to WDW. We purchased at Vero and plan to use our points mostly at Vero, but I have and will continue to stay on WDW property. It makes it feel like a vacation when we go to the parks and spend a night or two.

We live in Longwood which is about 30 minutes or so from WDW. We use our points to go to HHI, Vero, DCL (it's great being so close to the port) and 2-3 nights at the WDW resorts. It does make it seem like a vacation even though you are so close to home. Our points also allow us to treat family and friends much more than we would have if we didn't have the points.

We agree with the above ................ and plan on doing a lot of the same when we do move in 3 years...........especially cruising

I have a home at the Jersey Shore and in Central Florida (Ocala area) and I use my DVC pts all the time. When I am at WDW, I want to stay there. I do not like being a day tripper.
Once I retire and flip flop my present pattern and live in FL the majority of the yr with summers spent at the Jersey Shore; I will still use my DVC pts and will probably even add on again. I plan on going to VB to get my winter beach fix, stopping at HH during trips to and from Jersey and of course staying at my beloved BWV while at WDW.

Thanks everyone. My instincts tell me we'd still want to spend a few nights at a time staying at VWL or one of the other DVCers - would make us feel like we're really away. The DCL thought had crossed my mind, too. We LOVE HHI and I figure we'd be able to use points there to meet family coming from New England (or so DH and his brother can golf!)
