My DH, bless his heart...has been trying to find me a new vehicle because our mini van is getting old. I think we just need another mini van but he would like to step our "cool factor" up a notch (can you do that with 4 kids??) and has located a Chevy Trailblazer that he just loves. I know he wants it. The price is fair but I'm finding myself wondering....will I miss my mini van doors and the space? Anyone have a Trailblazer and can tell me about it?

Hi, we traded our Chevy Venture in last november for a 06 Trailblazer and I absolutely LOVE it!!! The only problem that I see for you would be that you'd have to get the extended one because the LS like mine only seats 5 people. It came with Onstar which was awesome when we drove to Disney and locked our keys in our car..it drives awesome, is actually pretty good on gas..only filled it 2 and a half times from NJ to Fl..has the air/heat control in the back and a much bigger trunk than the minivan. I think it would be a great choice! Good Luck! Barbara :sunny:

I looooooooooooooooooooved the one I was recently in. What a smoothe ride!!! This thing floated on air compared to my Tribute. We had two adults and four kids in it, and there was plenty of room all around. Two in the front, two in the middle row, two in the back. Go for it!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks to both of you! My DH has his heart set on it and I just wasn't sure about the room and the doors. The one he's looked at is the extended length....room for 6. The storage in the back is big? We're going on a big trip next week and I'm worried about packing (ok, worried about taking my beach stuff because we're going to Topsail). Oh and I wish it had DVD but we do have a portable. But it has everything else plus a moon roof (anyone know the difference between a moon roof and a sun roof?) I have to say having On Star is something I'm excited about. My DH is excited about the heated seats.

I'm glad to hear it is a smooth ride. I hope it gets good mileage too.

Ahhh...we have TWO

2003 Dark Blue LTZ
2004 Dark Red LTZ
2002 S-10....for our business
2002 Astro Van....for our business

I just shared all that because my neighbor is head of sales at the local Chevy dealer...so we always call him for our cars...EASY & EASY :thumbsup2 !!!

But that aside we LOVE  our TB's, we got two back to back!!! My DH had a 2000 Ford Explorer and it really was like driving a truck. These have a turbo engine and so smooth. Mine is the 2004 and I have the BOSE stereo 6-CD player....sweet!!! :goodvibes

Ah, the one my DH is looking at is a 2004 and it has the BOSE stereo 6 CD player too. He was excited about that...almost as much as the heated seats.

Tell me....is there room to pack for 3 female adults, 2 5 year old girls? Plus beach stuff (boogie board, beach chairs, towels, etc?)

Does it take you up on the cool factor? :rotfl2: Better then a mini van?

Ohhh, ya, KIM, I am so cool :lmao: :lmao: !! I have the sunroof and that is awesome and the ON STAR is fabulous as well. Absolutely, you can pack that all in and if you have to, you can use the luggage rack on top if necessary.
Ahh, you will be fine.

I am smelling a ROAD TRIP!!!!!

If you ever come to MA, I am have the TB w/Mickey's ears on my antenna and magnetic mickeys all over the back!!!! I have two mickey "danglers" in the front window!!! Yup THAT is MY T-Blazer... :rotfl:

Just remember you asked :teeth:

I had a GM Safari and I loooooooooved it. We traded it for a Chevie Astro and I loooooooooooooooooooved it even more. Get the picture, I am a honest to goodness van loving mama.

Well, they don't make these anymore and I am heartsick. My DH last year bought me a new Chevy Uplander and he bought himself a Trailblazer (yes we finally got to your question part).

This year we traded my Uplander for a Silverado for DH and he passed on his Trailblazer to me. So here we are. I have a beautiful Trailblazer, very cool color and it's all mine. I like the way it handles, I like everything about it. However, it is not a full size van and I miss that very, very, much.

I shouldn't be a spoiled pain in the butt, but I am. I will keep the Trailblazer, drive the Trailblazer, and trade it in if GM or Chevy come back to their senses and bring the Safari or Astro back.

I really hope this helps. It is a very nice mini van/SUV, or whatever it is. It is just not a van.

I am quite positive you are cool! :thumbsup2

Yep road trip to Hampstead, NC. With my mom, my sister, my DD5 and my neice5. My older DD12 will be with her dad or she'd be with us too. So that's a lot of females to pack for! :lmao:

I go test drive on Thursday....I'll see how I like it.

I appreciate your opinion! And really, this is what I'm afraid of. It's so nice to have the room in the van. I did make DH promise if it doesn't work out, we trade it in for a new van next summer. He agreed.

Ya know, being a spoiled pain in the butt is just fine with me :thumbsup2 We must all stick together! ;) :rotfl:

I drive and GMC Envoy XL which is basically the same vehicle, just finished inside a little diiferently?? I really love it...just not the fuel consumption but then I knew that going in! It seats 7...which I am sure the extended TB would also? Very handy for taking multiple people and great for hauling 'stuff' back and forth for my 2 DD's to/from University every Fall and Spring! Really happy with it overall :thumbsup2

We should stick together. I know it's my DH's fault, I'm spoiled. He made me what I am today. Why argue? :confused3

I really hope this works out for you. The Trailblazer is really nice and there are a lot of them out on the road. I wish you luck with your decision.
