Any DL vets from Pittsburgh area?

Looking for advice from Pittsburgh area DL vets. A few questions. Which airport is usually cheaper? How far in advance do you buy tickets?

Any advice on when I should buy July 2010 tickets? What would be a good price?

I'm not a DL vet, but we are going for the first time in February. We are flying Southwest from PIT to SNA (Orange County Airport or also called John Wayne Airport) for $87 each way. I bought my tickets two weeks ago. I could have gotten them for $79 if I would have pulled the trigger sooner. I read that the SNA airport is closest to DL. It was luck that flights to SNA were the cheapest. These prices are comparable to flights to Orlando. We do have one stop each way, but the lay overs are approximately an hour.
