Any cool "inside" tips to know??

I have been reading as much as I can on this board over the last few days, and I just get chills when I read things like the pillowcase signing.

Is there ANY other cool tidbits you can share with me? My sister thinks I am the craziest person for some of the things I come up with, but then she thanks me in the long run

Go to Deck 7 Aft and find the hidden outdoor deck. Get a Hidden Mickey Scavenger Hunt list. Order Mickey Bars from Room Service (they are not on the menu)

Hmmm, lets see. A lot of people miss the Library and room with board games down on deck 2, so be sure to check that out. Also, almost every night on deck 3 in the promenade lounge there are singers that are usually really funny and also very good. They get the crowd involved and unfortunately there have been times where I have been the only person listening to them. This is a great way to spend some time before dinner and a show.

*A tip: Never stop exploring the ship. I have been on it 6 times and everytime I find something new. Like a new beautiful view to look at stars at night, and that wonderful abandoned verandah on deck 7 that has already been mentioned.

Don't get your hopes up on the pillowcase thing...if you're going on the Magic you may not be able to get this done. I tried several times in May and they wouldn't do it, others have been able to get it done though.

Here's a tip about tipping. Go to guest services Thursday and square up on the tipping (unless you're putting cash in the envelopes) -- there will be a big line on Friday night at Guest Services with people doing this.

Go to Shutters every day and stack your pictures together. Some people say buy the ones you want early, but stacking them worked out well for us and then Thursday we picked the ones we wanted. If you see photographers walking around the ship, ask them to take pics of your kids -- we had no candid shots of our kids on the boat (professional ones), all of the ones I wound up buying were character shots.

And speaking of pics..bring your camera everywhere!!!!!!! There's no such thing as taking too many pictures!

Finally, have fun and relax. Don't try to do it all, it's impossible and it'll make you cranky!

I agree about having your camera at all times. Last year on the Wonder, I was walking through Shutters and don't you know, my favorite character came through, Snow White! She must have just come out because she was alone. This was a perfect chance to get some pics of us, but I didn't have my camera. And since I was in Shutters, I asked if anyone there had a camera (you'd think), but of course, no one did. Missed a great photo opportunity.

If you bring a pillow case to GS they will have all the characters sign it for you and you can pick it up the last night of the cruise. As mentioned above, they may or may not still be doing this. If you go to Goofy's Giggle Gala you will color your own pillowcase with Goofy and get to keep it.

If I may ask a dumb question, why not just get a white pillow case at home, sign it with permanent markers and then present it to the child as a present if it is important? Since you don't see Mickey Mouse doing the signing, and it is most likely some poor CM in guest services on night shift who ends up doing it, why go through the trouble?

Surely a photo with the character is far better than a scribble made by people wearing HUGE gloves. Our children never did the signing thing at MK etc., as it was such a waste of valueable fun time. Photos are wonderful reminders of a "magical" holiday - which can be displayed for years to come. Not many children will "remember the magic" by looking at a signature.Ive witnessed countless arguements between parents -fighting for a place to get a character's autograph for a very young child who wont even remember being there!As you say: it will be a tired CM signing the pillowcases. Just take your cameras. Nat

My kids have never been into the autograph thing, BUT...I read a tip on here a while back about asking the characters (through GS) to sign a photo mat! I think this is a great idea, because then the autographs will be displayed with a picture in the middle on my wall! I'm anxious to have this done in December, since it will be a useful and unique souvie.

Otherwise, I have no tips to offer yet, but I hope I will after December!!!

One of our favorite things about the cruises is that you do have the opportuntity to get autographs and in a fairly orderly way. The lines are nicely controlled and sometimes they have a session where you just pass by the characters seated at tables and they sign the books.

The cool thing about autographs is that no matter where you get a signature, they are always the same. Meaning if Mickey signs your book in the Magic Kingdom and later on the ship, the signature is exactly the same. Disney obviously puts a lot of time and effort into training their characters on this. It really helps keep the magic alive.

Bring Cheese Wiz to take with you snorkeling on Castaway. My daughter and I were surrounded by and swimming with 20-50 fish for 2 hours just because I had the can. They recognize the can! You can pet them and lead them around to people who want a closer look. FUN FUN

They will not do the pillowcase thing anymore. The only way to have the characters sign the pillowcase or t-shirt is to take it to them yourself.

We had late dinner seating, so every day I ordered the All Hands on Deck (cheese, crackers and grapes platter) around 3 p.m. It's wonderful.

(You can ask for Mickey Ice Cream Bars from Room Service too - even tho they aren't on the menu - this works well when you order a bucket of ice. They put the bars on top of the bucket over the ice to keep them cold)

Question...what does "stacking" your photos at Shutters mean?

Question...what does "stacking" your photos at Shutters mean?

Everyday all of the new photos developed are put put on display, If you gather all of the photos of your family together, you can place them in a stack on the disply. Hopefully they will all be where you left them at the end of the week.

Another tip (not really cool though): If you want to take the exercise classes, sign up for them at the beginning of thw week. There is limited space and they fill up quickly.
