A friend of mine got a little Acer Netbook just like mine but for some reason, his was fine when he got it but not everything is displayed in French. I have tried changing the language but it's not working.

Can anyone familiar with Windows XP help get his computer back on track....I really want to show my DH that I can fix these things cause he usually has to do this type of thing.

If you can help, I will really appreciate it.

Thanks

To change the language of Windows go into the Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options (Menu is in classic view, not category view).

Go to the Languages tab and click the Details button located in the "Text services and input languages" section.

The input language should be English (United States) and the Keyboard language should be US. These are two different settings.

Now, most computers only come with one full language pack installed. If his came with the full French language pack installed there will be an additional option on the Language tab called "Language used in menus and dialogues". Make sure it is English.

I tried that....Must be something wrong. Thanks for the info...I thought I was doing it right...

Windows XP: How to change the Default User UI Language
In Windows XP, you can set the UI language that the default user on the local machine (or a domain user that doesn't have a profile) will see at first first log on. It is also the UI language that is applied to system services running on local machine.

• Open Regional Options in Contol Panel

• Click on the Advanced tab

• In "Default user account settings" at the bottom of the page, check the box beside "Apply all settings to the current user account and to the default user profile"
