Hi guys,

This question may have been best placed on the DIS dieters thread, but thought I might get more of a response if I posted it on the main board.

I was just wondering if anyone's ever done the Rosemary Conley weight loss clubs? If so what did you think? Have you heard anything about it?

I've tried weight watchers before, but this time I thought I'd try something different. And that's when I found this. According to their website they're the only weight loss clubs that offer an exercise class as well as a weekly weigh in.The nearest class is around 12 miles away, but it really appeals to me, so that's not too bad...

It's £10 membership for your handbooks and portion pots etc etc and then £5.80 per class. But there's a voucher available at the mo which gives you free membership when you pay for 6 classes (£29). The class consists of a weigh-in, motivational/nutritional advice chat and then a 45 minute exercise class.

So, what do you think?

TIA :)

I haven't been so don't know if its any good, but it sounds good value compared to other Diet Clubs.

A friend at work tried that diet and I can remember that she was always hungry on it, it was very strict, for the first two weeks there was a really low calorie limit and she felt ill. She did lose weight but then put it back on :sad2:

Oh dear - I don't like really low calorie limits...:headache:

I'm doing Slimming World and thats good, there is no calorie limit and lots of food can be eaten unlimited such as fruit, veg, pasta, potatoes, rice etc and you really can have as much as you like!

Sorry to ask such a silly question, but is SW confusing? In my opinion weight watchers is easy (the old points) - you just made sure that you didnt eat over your points each day.

Anything like that?

It's very different to WW, you don't have to weigh or measure any of the free foods, only the healthy extras or syns. Basically on extra easy which is the lastest diet you can have unlimited fruits, veg, meats with no skin, pasta, rice, cous cous etc. The food has to be cooked with no fat, so for example you could a large jacket potato with tuna and baked beans or spag bol with lean mince and homemade sauce and that would all be free food. You get a and b healthy extras which are your breads and dairy and those you have to measure out. Then you can have 15 syns a day for treats. I like it because I like big portions and so I know that there is always free food for me to eat.

Over the last 20 years I've tried vsrious slimming clubs. I've lost weight with all 3 of them.

WW - for me the most successful. They have just changed their points system. It is as easy to use as the old but they've recalculated the points based on carbs and protiens rather than calories. Also fruit is now a zero point food.

SW Probably the easiest to fit into normal family life but also the easiest to cheat on. I found it successful for a while but soon started to overeat.

RC I've been to two of these. At the first I over stretched my hip and I still have to be careful with it now, but I enjoyed the second more. Neither were full of diet advice. But it seemed a reasonable price for an aerobics workout where I wasn't embarressed by my size.

I'd say give it a go. Your entusiasm is probably the most important thing when starting a new diet.

Thanks both for your comments - and I agree that it's your enthusiasm plays a massive part in making the diet work.

I've decided to give the RC class a go - I've dusted off my exercise mat and I'm starting on Wednesday :)
