Any chance of finding 2 bedroom villa in Feb?

I’m not a DVC member and I’ve never rented points or an existing booking, but I’m trying to find a 2 bedroom villa for the end of February for a family trip and they aren’t available through Disney. Is it too late to bother looking through DVC point rentals too? They probably book even sooner than the regular ones I’d imagine. Just figured I’d ask the experts if it’s a possibility or a total waste of time.😄 Thanks!

The last 2 weeks of February are looking pretty grim at the moment...in every category.

Keep trying, but... That's Princess Half Marathon weekend, so things have been booked. That said I just added one extra night in a 1 bedroom at Beach Club yesterday, so things do pop up. If you can find an owner who is willing to just keep trying, maybe something will appear, but again, it's all pretty booked.

As a renter, owners are not going to stalk for you.

You might find a confirmed booking through an agency. But you are unlikely to get a new reservation to your specification.

While I do agree a confirmed booking through an agency is probably the best path to go, I’d just note that it’s always possible to find an owner who is willing to help stalk a reservation for you (I’ve absolutely done it for my renters in the past), but there’s absolutely no guarantee that the stalking will be successful nor should you expect an owner to do it (it’s a lot of work, and arguably should command an extra fee) - nothing may become available and you won’t get what you want. Confirmed rental reservations are by far the best way to go to ensure you get what you want. (edited to clarify renters shouldn’t *expect* owners to do this).

I also meant to add that late February - especially if you mean President’s Day week (Feb 19-27) is also winter vacation week for Massachusetts and some other states, and is thus a popular week to go to Disney (I’m doing a big family trip to Disney then, too) and I noticed that many of the rooms were gone well before the 7 month mark.

You are a generous person. But renters should not feel entitled to that sort of treatment, and it will be hard to find someone willing to do so. We should not be telling renters that sort of thing is to be expected, or hard feelings and disappointment will follow for both owners and renters. For an owner, its easy to rent points without the hassle, and for most of us, one stranger is the same as another stranger.

Most owners I know do this for friends or special situations (friend of a friend whose kid got a kidney transplant, that kinda thing).

Short-notice stalking is work, and minimally would command a premium from a lot of owners, since there is no guarantee the points rent.

I will tell you, I've been stalking for myself, not for a 2 bedroom this time, but availability all around has been VERY low. People from the UK are finally able to travel and many were allowed point extensions until I think the end of May so there are a lot of points to be used up. A confirmed reservation would definitely be the way to go.

I don't think that she was telling the OP to expect it.

I, too, bristled at the post that they WON'T. They might find one. They might not.

They also might ask and find someone who tells them off in no uncertain terms. For me, merely asking to do this would be SO inappropriate I'd be irate.

Thanks for all the input. I decided to just book regular rooms. I’ll keep an eye out for confirmed reservations being offered from agencies, but I think we’ll be happy with what we reserved.
