Any chance left for first week of December?

I understand the first 2 weeks of December are really difficult to get due to the low points chart and decorations. However, I don't really hear much about the 3rd week of December which seems to be the same points. What are some reasons the 3rd week is not as popular, as it appears to have the same low points chart.

IIRC, the DVC AP is blocked out starting sometime the third week of December.

Sorcerer pass usually isn't blocked until the week that includes Christmas. This year, the blocked period is 12/21 (Sunday) - 1/1 (Thursday).

When my mom and I used to go, we liked the first week because it gave us time after we got home to get ready for Christmas.

I see a lot of shuffling in December over past weekend (as I was stalking one day of the first week). Many days of December (e.g. second week, Chritmas week) opened up, and people picked a day or two in a couple hours.
Apparently, people start (late) planning after end of summer. So, there is still chance. Though, it would be really hard if you want a whole week. Also, now waitlist is faster than stalking when it's too casual...

I wonder if there’s a clump of cancellations at the start of school when parents/grandparents get schedules for things they might want to attend. Sports, band, choir, etc… my kids had many big events in December over the years.

If I ever get to be grandparent, I’d probably reschedule over finding out little Jimmy will be playing trumpet for 30 minutes in the Winter Concert

There’s always a chance, things are constantly changing.

I am sitting on a coveted reservation for the first week of December that DH and I are talking about letting go. We are going for Halloween and then again in January so we are thinking the 3rd trip in such a short time might not be necessary.

Wow you are really to be able to go that much. We are in Canada, flights are expensive, exchange rate is hard on us, we have enough points but other costs are high for us.

I believe CP dining packages were announced/opened for reservation, just before Halloween last year, if that's what you're asking. I expect people who wish to do the CP already have their room reservations, so not sure there will be a lot of movement - but could be some!

Wow you are really to be able to go that much. We are in Canada, flights are expensive, exchange rate is hard on us, we have enough points but other costs are high for us.

We are lucky in that DH is self employed so he has a lot of flexibility in his work schedule. You definitely are at a disadvantage being from Canada with flights and exchange rate!

I was perusing the calendar out of curiosity a couple days ago to see if we could piece together a trip before Christmas and just picked up 5 nights in a preferred studio at RIV for the 2nd week of December!!!

I was perusing the calendar out of curiosity a couple days ago to see if we could piece together a trip before Christmas and just picked up 5 nights in a preferred studio at RIV for the 2nd week of December!!!

We picked up 2 nights at CCV in 2nd week of December and my WL for a 3rd night came through 20 minutes after I made it today!

All this because I cancelled our BRV reservation for the 1st week because I thought we could skip it this year, lesson learned
