Any Cdn DVC owners - need you help

After much research I finally made the call today to seriously inquire about buying into the DVC. I had planned to finance through Disney as it seemed from others on these boards, that it was a very simple process. The guide was very nice and very helpful, however I did not realize that I would have to open a chequing or savings account in the US and have the money wire transfered each month. Only other alternative would be to have it put on a credit card each month however it would cost approximately $10.00 more/month due to credit card charges. Hopefully I understood this correctly and if so, what procedure did you follow. Any info at all would be greatly appreciated.

Does it have to be a bank in the US?

you can have the statements mailed to you, but I believe if you are fiancing, they charge you an extra % point.

You can open a US$ account at TD Bank North (in US) and transfer money there from your Canadian TD Bank account. The monthly fee is US$4 for a saving account there.

Our DVC purchase is financed through our Home Equity Line of Credit. Disney financing was an extra percentage point for us (11.75%) if we had wanted to pay through our credit card every month.

We actually took the Disney financing and then came home and paid it out through the Line of Credit because Disney can't sell in Alberta.
