Any Casio users?

I'm in the market for a compact, pocket sized, digital for those times I don't feel like carrying around my other cameras. I had thought to go with either a Canon Powershot or a Sony Cybershot. That is until I read some reviews.

As near as I can tell the Casio EX - Z1000 is the only camera to make the top picks list at 3 sites - Steve's digi-cams, Imaging-resource and dpreview.

What I'm wondering about is the experience of users here with Casios. Good? Bad? In-between?

What about the 1050 model? It has fewer pixels (LCD) and hasn't been reviewed much yet.

Any opinion(s) will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

I have a casio exilim ex-z700 similiar ro the one you are looking at it is a very good camera , small enough that you can fit it in a pocket and still gives very good pictures and the battery last forever on a single charge. The only down side is that the camera does not really take very good pictures at night and the zoom is good for a compact but it does tend to have a little noise at the extreme edge of the zoom as well as the digital zoom. It is a very good day to day camera and excellent for carry around.

Not sure of the Casio but we switched from Sony to Panasonic Lumix last year and are totally please with it.

We have the Fx3

I don't have the model you're looking into but I do have the exilim z-60 and absolutely love it! Great for everyday point-and-shoot use. The picture quality is stunning and it's so compact and easy to carry around.
