I know we can't get the Disney Visa but I was wondering if anyone got the special e-mail that they sent out?

i did get a email, but we are already booked with General code, and the dates for freee dining are not our dates. The free dining would be good, but there is no room discount so it probably would not have made a big difference

I got a free dining pincode email yesterday for dates in december. Too bad we have no vacation time left and are not going until April:sad2:

Now I know the million dollar question is how do you get these codes. I know for the states the Visa has helped immensly. But, us as Canadians, can't get teh Visa. I have never been to DW. I have called a crazy amount of times to both reservations and dining (if that makes any bit of difference), I have ordered dvds 2 times this year. I have signed up to any of the websites that would even remotely give me hope.
Not just for free dining, but for any discount. But ultimately, free dining being the holy grail. I checked, and it would save us $330 even paying reg price for the rooms.

I received the free dining PIN e-mail, though not to my usual Disney e-mail address, AND we can actually use it :cool1: we have to change our dates, but we're flexible!!!

This is my third PIN code in a year, but I don't know why :confused3

That is awesome! At least someone in Canada will be eating for free! :thumbsup2 Now, hopefully it will spread. ;) Have a great time!!

Ooooooooh I am so jealous!!

I want a Pin Code! Please! Please Disney! Please!

I've not ever gotten any email PIN's. :( There seems to be no one particular criteria that determines whether or not you get one. We're going in May 09, hoping for my first one! :)

All of you that have gotten them....is there something consistent with each of you?

Like when was your last trip?
How many times have you been to WDW?
Where did you stay?
Have you used the pin codes before, or other codes?
Do you do lots of Disney stuff online?
Did you book your last trip online? With the Disney Travel Company or other?

Any other reason why you got picked that you can think of?

I want to know how I can better my chances!

It is our first trip coming up.We booked through a TA wont do that again...um I ordered the DVD but thats all.I have had 4 pin codes so far since April all through email. So nope for us does not seem any rhyme or reason.Three pin codes were not for the time we are going this last one for free dining turns out it is only for the last 2 days we are there so most likely not going to be any good.....

Hi ktdaiwik, I'm just curious why you say you won't ever use a TA again?

I'm just wondering because we booked through a TA this time, mostly because The Unofficial Guide, MouseSavers, and most of the Disney sites, actually whole-heartedly support using a TA.

We have just not had alot of luck, the first one left ,we did not find out till a month later when i phoned to inquire why I had not heard anything. The other one has gone on holiday several times and has not been able to answer any of my questions.I have actually told them more than they ever knew, including now number three who kept telling me today she knows way more than me because she has been doing this for years, there is no such thing as pin codes or being able to book meals 180 days out......I think next time thanks to this wonderful site and experience I could most likely do it myself or find someone with a little more knowledge.:)

I think the trick to TAs is finding one that specializes in Disney and really only Disney. I do not by nature use a TA, but I do for Disney since no one will rebate commissions like cruise and package holiday agents do so if I can get the benefit of a Disney expert for no extra costs then I would be a fool not to. She also books all my ADRs for me if I give them to her a few days before they become available. It's a great value add and saves me the hassle of having to do it.

Cheers,

Brian

Two things...how does Disney get your email address if you have used a TA?
And, we used a TA for our Sept trip and will never do again...we felt we needed to in order to secure free dining, not true...and we almost missed out on Magical Express because he didn't know we needed to make a res for it...Disney expert? Not so much....
We booked in room bounceback code for next year, but would LOVE to get on the mailing list and hopefully be on their pin radar...
