Any bra suggestions for the heat?

I am small chested and don't need that much support so I wear a sports bra in DW, I refuse to wear anything with padding and wires while in hot/humid places.....if there is a blast of cold air then so be it :cool1:

I do wear the moisture repelling sports bras though, they've made some great developments in them!

:banana:Personally, I wish y'all would just go without.

:thumbsup2

I am large busted too. The tank top with the built in bras are not always enough support for me either. I did find some that had under-wire bras built in that were more support. They are a little lower cut than I usually wear but I didn't "flash" anybody so I guess it was OK

I just got a new Travelsmith catalog in the mail and they have Cool Max soft cup bras in A/B, C/D and an underwire that goes up to 40D. :crowded:

This is my new favorite thread!!:banana:

How do you find something that is comfortable in the heat? I am a DD cup but perky enough to wear a tank type shirt with built in bra but need something large enough to fit but a little more modest for blasts on cold air. :rotfl: Does anyone know where to find a tank with a built in that would fit a DD cup? I know I am always miserable in the heat with a padded underwire.

DD and perky in same sentence. Every mans dream!

If I'm willing to help carry them around....does that help anyone?

YEAH....RIGHT? I'm a guy and at first I was hooked and kept reading and then I said, "Ewwwwww," and then I said, "Did she just say double D's" (as my eybrows lifted) and then reading on, I said, "Where in the hell is a mod when you need one?" This has been one roller coaster of thread. I like ****ies just like the next guy (well, not so much our DIS podcast crew :lmao:), but I didn't think I'd be discussing them in the context of Disney.

Purses, shoes and clothes are discussed regularly on these boards. Why not bras? Women discussing bras amongst ourselves is like men discussing the best shoes to wear--no big deal.

Believe me, on a hot muggy day, a bra can make you miserable. Wrap your chest in something like plastic wrap, walk around in the heat and see what I mean.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good bra for the heat and humidity that isn't a sports bra--I don't like being squished!

I've seen some with Cool Max but it turned out it was just the side panels--I want the cups to breathe!

Thanks!

I bought some of those playtex "cooling" bras, ($15 a piece at the outlet store).
They have cooling material on the sides and also the undersides of the cup.
I've found that they work really well and are very comfortable :thumbsup2

We are currently spending a month in Tampa while DH has a med school rotation so DD and I have been going to Disney lots during the days. I'm pregnant with #2 so I'm not a 32DDD. You can't buy those bras cheaply or at stores. So frustrating. We were at AK on Saturay and my bra was driving me nuts. I looked at DH and said forget this. Snuck off in an empty nook and whipped it out from under my dress. Soooooo much better. I think I'm just going to try and find shirts that I can go braless in. Luckily since they are pregnancy enhanced they tend to stay put without support.

Oooo I forgot to add the funniest part. We hopped over to Epcot for dinner. Well my bra was in DH's backpack. So when he went through security it was right there for the security guard to see. DH said that then when I went through with our camera bag that the security guard definitely snook a peak to see if it really was off.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but: thanks for this thread!!! I normally wear VS (although the elastic does not last that long) and I am busty and no longer that perky (thanks to three kids). Going without, as stated by others, is NOT an option. I am definitely going to look into those Playtex bras. I normally don't like their fit, but, heck, it's only for a week.

I wore my VS bras on my last trip (love the Body by Victoria), but, I will admit, the moisture was definitely trapped inside. Moisturewick bras would be amazing to have (even in the summer in Jersey!).

now that this thread has popped back up, i'll add my june experience. i had purchased a Bali "sports" bra that was made similar to a regular bra. i also bought two Champion bras from the Leggs Hanes Bali outlet. these also were made similar to a regular bra, but with a moisture-wicking material. they were wonderful on our june trip. i rotated between them and would wash them out after each wear.

with a regular bra, i'd feel the sweat on the bra throughout the day and it would drive me nuts. with the moisture-wicking material, it was MUCH more comfortable. and i didn't want to wear a regular sports bra because i always feel smooshed. it's one thing to wear one when i'm actually working out, but around Disney, i wanted to feel somewhat normal.

anyway, just wanted to share my recent experience. the moisture-wicking material made a huge difference for me.

Please don't take me too seriously. Normally, I would just have the maturity level to move on if I didn't have anything to add, but this can be construed as a humourous subject, sans any male commentary. I grew up in a house with mom and 3 sisters, so I have been smack dab in the middle of many discussions like this. This was funny (I guess) because it's such a far departure form normal disboard fair.

I am 34DD and thanks to ...ahem...some "surgical enhancement" I really don't need a ton of support. I have found, though, that the tops with the built in bras don't offer ANY support, and if you are a larger cup size, not enough coverage. Plus, because of the thin material there is some "show through."

I hate sports bras. I think they make you hotter because everything is squished together.

I, actually, never thought to wear anything other than my normal bras, but the bikini top under the shirt sounds like a good idea, especially for splash and Kali!

As *ahem* a very busty girl I had planned to wear my sports bra to the parks last year, due to uncomfortable 'bouncing' whilst on rides (my test track picture was actually of me holding onto my chest! :rotfl:) however the heat + sports bra squish I just couldn't do it. Ended up wearing my bra sized underwired bikini underneath my tops and just made sure it was as supportive as I could get it.

Though I fear I have left bikini shopping too late this year for September. :headache:

I found some Marika(?) sports tops with built in bras that include pads for some extra coverage and fullness. The whole top is that wicking material so I'm very excited to try wearing them in August. These tops are really cute so now I'm scouring every Marshalls and TJ Max looking for some more because most sports tops aren't very attractive.

I just got an e-mail from Spanx about their Bra-lellujah bras...I am thinking of trying them. They look comfy and apparently help "smooth" things out so your t-shirtts look better.

OK, I have to ask. I have been looking for these Playtex cooling bras in stores and online, the only ones I have found are not underwire. I found on Amazon they had them but are no longer available. Can you get a cooling bra in underwire? I too am a DD and can't imagine not having underwire.

my sister wears one of these. it doesn't help with the wicking moisture though.

the champion bra i wore most of the time is made just like a regular bra. just with the special material. the straps can be worn normally, or hooked for racer-back. i cannot link, but you can google it. it's called the champion sport no poke wire bra and you can find it on champion's site. i got a better deal on it at the outlet.
