Is anyone on here an avid bowler? I am looking to find the cheapest place online to order the accessories such as a bag and shoes. I used to be heavy in it but havent bowled in about 6-7 years and I am getting back into it on a league. I will buy the balls at a local pro shop because I know they charge alot to drill them if you buy it online and take to them.

P.S, if there is anyone. Do you know what is the best if you will or most popular ball out right now. Storm, Ebonite etc.

Im an avid bowler. I buy alot of my stuff at either bowlersparadise.com or bowling.com. . When it comes to bowling balls, i always buy at a local pro shop and get them to tell me the best one to buy for how i throw the ball. Let them recommend several options. Any good local pro shop should be able to do that.

My 2 ds are bowling coaches. They have used bowlersparadisse and bowling.com for their bags and shoes too.

Yes I own a 24 lane center in Upstate NY and the PP's website suggestions are fine and the most popular.

But your correct if your not buying your equipment from your local pro-shop be prepared to pay more for fitting/drilling.

I'm 37 and have been bowling since I was able to walk coming from a big bowling family and I'm more of a "old school" menatality. Buy from your local pro-shop, develope a realtionship. If your not happy with the first try some others, most areas have more than one center within a reasonable distance. We actually get a turned off by people that come in with a brand new ball wanting it drilled. Beside the fact that your not always 100% sure what your getting online nowadays. With today's technology, weight blocks, coverstocks, etc. pin placements, cg's and such can be extremely important to a balls performance. When you buy locally you can see what your getting and if you have a problem down the road most pro-shops will do everything in their power to fix it and make sure your happy. Not that you wouldn't get good service if you brought a ball in but when you buy locally your more likely to get a pro to go the extra mile for you.

As far as bowling balls, Storm, Hammer, Ebonite, Morich are some of the more popular brands. I'm a Hammer guy so I'm partial to them. Only thing I would stay away from are Columbia and AMF as they haven't had anything decent in years IMO.

At any rate, best of luck with you comeback, I wish I had a couple hundred people in my area like you. Could always use more league bowlers nowadays. :)

nowadays. :)

I didnt realize Hammer was still around. I remember them when I was younger in my teens. Im now 30. I still have my old balls which are Storm XXX, Storm elNino and ebonite matrix which was the worst ball I have ever had. Storm has been decent for me. Maybe I will get another storm and a hammer.

I will buy the balls from the pro shop. But for the shoes and such I will buy online. My last shoes I bought had interchangeable soles and heals and I thinks the pro shop wanted close to $200 and I got them online for I think $90with shipping.

Welcome back to the sport. Being a league secretary/treasurer, I know the turn over in league play. Not too long ago, we had 18 teams(full house), now we are hoping we can get 7-8 full teams.

I use bowlingball.com for all my stuff....shoes, bags, tape, ball cleaners.... They offer free shipping, too.

Yeah agreed if you can grab shoes and stuff cheaper online go for it.

Hammer did kind of fall off the radar for awhile then Ebonite bought out FaBall about 10 years ago and they've slowly made a nice comeback. My 2 "goto" balls are my Bite and Green Vibe.

My son is a High School League Bowler. We buy from the pro shop and have been happy with the service and the prices.
