We love to visit Legal Seafoods when we're in Boston and I wondered if there was anywhere comparable to it in WDW. We've got PS's for Narcoosees, the Coral Reef and Flying Fish, but I'm wondering if we're missing somewhere else. We love the atmosphere and food selections and I thought maybe someone here could point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance

I have never been, but a lot of folks say Fulton's has good seafood. But I must admit - we are spoiled here as far as fresh seafood goes! Makes us picky!

I'm a Kentuckian, but I just had to add that I'm a huge Legal Seafood's fanatic!!! About 12 years ago, my boss overnighted the most wonderful clam chodwer in from Legal Seafoods (her daughter lived in Boston) and I've been getting it ever since~it's my most favorite food, LOL!!!

Fulton's is as close as it gets to Legal Seafoods, with the Flying Fish being a pretty close second. Narcooses and the Coral reef are nothing like LS IMHO.

BTW--Legal Seafods is branching out of MA now. We have two of them here in NJ now :) Ate at one a couple weeks ago--it was DH's first time at LS (I've eaten there at least a dozen or so times over the years) and he LOVED it! He finally understands why I rave about it like I do :)

legal has been here in dc since at least 1996. :)

i agree with ducklite -- fulton's is about as close as it gets. we didn't like flying fish, however.

Joanna--I swear, I am NOT stalking you, but I noticed on the Transportation Board, you are flying Song from BOS to MCO. Well, at Logan, there are small Legal Seafoods in terminal B, and a Legal Express in Terminal C and if they have not changed, I believe that is where you will be getting your Song flight at Terminal B. If you have enough time between your Trans-Atlantic flight, and your flight to FL, you might get to actually go to Legal! You can check out Logan at www.massport.com and click on the link for Logan Airport.

Otherwise, I think in WDW, Fulton's might just be your best choice.

ducklite - where in NJ have you found Legal Seafoods?

I checked the oficial website, and they only listed one restaurant in NJ - in Paramus, which is WAY too far away for me!

Would love to visit one in NJ!

I'm from the North Shore about 20 miles north of Boston and believe me when I tell you that you will not find any seafood comparably close to any seafood from this area in Florida. Until you have explored the little unknown restaurants on the North Shore( Maddies & The Barnicle in Marblehead and the Clam Box in Ipswich) you won't realize how overated Legal Seafood is.

Paramus and Short Hills--both in their respective malls. Short Hills is the one I've dined in.

As a life-long Bostonian and a decade-long Floridian there are not any restaurants in Disney that come close to any in New England.
That being said, I also agree that Legal Seafood is not the best that New England has to offer. I think it is a restaurant that is designed for the tourists.
We have found a restaurant in the Orlando area that does match up to and surpass (I do not say that lightly!) most seafood restaurants in New England. It is on the line of The Clam Box and is called Boston's Fish House. It is located in Winter Park and it is approx. 30-40 min. from DW. Casual and mostly fried seafood, these people come from the Boston area and do it right. Without fail everytime we are in the Orlando area we make at least one trip if not two! We are 2 hours away and have driven there just for lunch! Great clam chowder, lobster bisque, and clams. Believe me we have searched all over Florida and it is the best.

I know you probably won't want to do the drive from Point Pleasant, but there is also one in the Palisades Center in Nyack, NY, which is just a few miles into the NJ/NY border. But if you're ever up that way, you'll know it's there! The closest one for you is in Short Hills.

Wow- thanks for all the input! I realise LS is probably not the finest that New England has to offer, but as a tourist, we do like it. I'd love to try some of the places recommended here!

Debster- thanks for the tip (don't worry I know you're not stalking LOL!)- our flight out of Boston isn't till 2 or 3, so I think we'll be hitting the LS for lunch. I once brought 2 live lobsters back from the airport LS for my parents- my dad picked us up at 6.30 am after a redeye transatlantic flight and we had 2 excellently packed lobsters as a gift for them!

ducklite- I notice from a lot of your posts that we have similar tastes (well, GF excepted!):) . Where do you normally eat at WDW?

Can't wait to get there.

Joanna-

There are a few musts for every trip:

Jiko, Donald's, and Le Cellier.

Other favorites we hit at least every other trip are CG, Citrico's, 50's Prime Time, Mama Melroses, and recently added, Narcooses.

Still other favorites that we really enjoy but don't always have enough time for (some of our trips are only three or four dinners) are Fulton's, Cape May Cafe (a must do when our DS is with us), Kona Cafe for breakfast and dinner, and Beaches and Cream.

We also enjoyed Bongo's and Shula's, but have only dined at each once so far, so time will tell.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! We haven't hit the Clambox yet this summer - thanks for reminding me!!!!

Someone mentioned The Barnacle - that is my all time favorite restaurant (and it only takes 5 minutes to get home - Pinot Grigio is also my favorite!!!!!!).

Now THAT is seafood! I'll admit, I'm a seafood snob!!! When I buy fish at the Marblehead Lobster Company, I pick a fish whose gills are still moving!

I agree. I also love Woodman's in Essex for lobster. I just went there for my birthday:)

I like Legal Seafoods, but really I just like fish prepared with imagination and taste. I've had the best fish at California Grille. My 12 yr old daughter ate an entire meal of salmon last week.....I could not believe my eyes. The food there is excellent as is the service.....
