Any Beer Enthusiast out there? Please help me!

With all this talk about beer, where's the best place (variety & cost) to purchase beer offsite?

Id like to know this too. Im guessing the shopping center off property in DTD but I havent been there in years. This fall I need to there buy beer (for me) and Mountain Dew (for DW) so I can have one of mine before bed and she can have one of hers to get out of bed.

anyone know if you can get a snakebite at Rose & Crown or Raglan Road?
(I think that's what it's called...I'm sick today and my head is a little foggy!)

Le Cellier was stocking Unibroue's beers, and I'm hoping they still do. Unibroue is a Canadian brewery specializing in Belgian style beer. If you've never tried any Belgian brews, they are very strong, and very textured and complex. When I say strong, I'm talking 9-10% alcohol (Bud, Coors usually runs ~3-4%) Unibroue makes some of the best beers in the world, so it was a real treat knocking back a few while at Le Cellier. For all the people who managed to get ADR's at Le Cellier, I'd look for:

Blanche De Chambly - wheat/white beer
Fin Du Monde - strong Belgian Ale
Maudite - strong dark belgian ale

Out of the three, Fin Du Monde is my fav. We're eating at LC twice on my upcoming trip, so I'm looking forward to these brews

I am eating at Le Cellier' twice also. So I should ask for Maudite, and fin du monde?? Ok, I willl try them!

:thumbsup2

A friend of mine and I had a Sam's Summer Ale last month at the Cape May Buffet at the Beach Club.

If the OP likes ambers, and especially Dos Equis, it might be worthwhile to wander over to Animal Kingdom for a Safari Amber. I'm not sure if it really is the best tasting amber in the world or if I just adore it because you can only get it in the World, but I love Dos Equis, and I can't get enough Safari Amber when we're in the neighbourhood.

Dos Equis is a good beer--as is Safari Amber. Used to be you could get it at Jikos and Victoria Falls Bar in the AK Lodge. But no more.
I do find it tasting suspiciously like Michelob Amber Bock.

During a trip last October, we visited the Big River Grille and Brewery at the Disney Boardwalk. If you like beer (and it sounds like most people do here :cool1: ), it is worth a trip. All of the beers are microbrews and they offer a sampler which we tried while waiting for our table.

My favorite was the Rocket Red Ale and second favorite was the Steamboat Pale Ale. I highly suggest both of these, but definitely try the sampler. Here is a link to their beer menu for that location:

Last year when we were in there for a bite to eat and a couple beers at the bar, the brewmaster came up and sat beside me. We chatted for a while about whats on tap and whats coming up on tap and he even jotted down some of my ideas for what beers (like a 60 minute IPA ala Dogfishhead or the like). He had a whole laptop setup making inventory lists and showing what beer was at what stage in the brewing process. Its too bad they dont have a "chef's table" type deal at that place where you get to talk beer with the brewmaster because I really enjoyed that.

That's a shame about the Safari being gone. I had it while eating at Boma last year, and thought it wasn't half bad. I hope they still have some sort of decent beer when visiting the AKL. I need to enjoy some sort of decent beer while eating most of my dinners

If you search enough, hopefully WDW still has small collection of decent beers to track down. Others I can think of:

Poly - As of last Oct, they had bottles from Kona Brewing (based in Hawaii)
Flying Fish Cafe - bottles of Flying Fish lager, which is from the Flying Fish micro in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Il Mullino - I've heard they stock bottles of Dogfish Head IPA.

I'll be eating at the Cali Grill for the 1st time in my upcoming trip, and besides the wine, I'm hoping they have a semi-decent beer to drink

I'd love to chat with the brewmaster! I'm sure they get a few beer fans at Big River, but probably not as many as any brew pub outside of WDW. I'd guess a lot of the visitors are looking for a place to eat on the boardwalk, and just happen across them by chance. If I was the brewmaster, I'd love to talk shop with the fans any chance I get.

Brocktoon:
Unless things have changed considerably at California Grill since we ate there in May, don't look to be bowled over by their beer. I settled for an Anchor Steam. I believe they also had Kirin and Sierra Nevada, in addition to several of the "usual suspects". And sorry to report the Flying Fish no longer carries Flying Fish. Server told me they couldn't reach an agrement with the brewery.
At AKL the best I could find was Tusker. They also had Casa and a South African beer called Windhoek (a dead ringer for Hieniken, in my opinion).
And a few of the "usual suspects".
