So me and my family are going to DL next october for 2 weeks and me and my mom were talking about getting annual passes and going back in Feb.2010, when the olympics are going on here. were not to interseted in going and its gonna be CRAZY here!!! Anyone one else thinking of going??? How do you think airfare would be flying out of here durning the olympics and then flying in after??? We were thinking/hoping it would be cheaper casue the planes will be full coming in and then empty going out and vise-versa at the end.... Has anyone else thought about this yet??

:rotfl: I just got a place in Cali for part of the year. I am from Vancouver... I dont even wanna THINK about what its gonna be like there :scared: So yes I may just hop down to our favorite little land for a trip.

You may want to consider driving instead, that way you can avoid the chaos that pretty well guaranteed to happen at YVR once the Olympics start:eek:  . You might catch a cheaper flight, but trying to get through security might be a challenge. I feel your pain, as I live less than a 5 min drive from the Olympic Oval, and will be sneaking down the backroads to avoid even being near the area while it's on. Oh wait, I curl at the local curling rink, so much for avoiding the olympic chaos, rats!! :sad1: :sad2: Have a great day!!

We live on the North Shore and can't imagine what traffic will be like trying to cross the bridge. My daughter's school has already announced that spring break will be moved to during the Olympics. We probably won't do Disneyland in February but will head somewhere else that's hot. No way we're staying around for the chaos/traffic jams!

The Olympics are going to be here in 2010? Where have I been:happytv: ? Apparently I have been watching the wrong channel.:rotfl2: :wizard:

We're going to be at the olympics, hopefully, since they'll finally be close to us. But I'm tempted to go to DL instead! We probably won't make it back to DL until 2012 because we'll be spending so much to go up to the Olympics.

We live in Richmond and we have to cross the bridge everyday to take our daughter to her high school in Vancouver. Luckily for us, her school has decided also to close down for the duration of the Olympics. We will probably also get away -- most likely head to Hawaii. Really nice to get away to someplace warm in February. We're usually slaves to the school year.

Most of our friends have the same idea and are contemplating leaving town too. Some of them are thinking about renting out their homes for $10,000-$15,000 for the 2 weeks during the Olympics (there was an article about this in our local newspaper about a rental agency helping to connect renters with home owners during the Olympics). I don't know if I could do that, but I know some of my friends don't really mind. But can you imagine what you can do and where you can go with that money???

Well, that WAS my plan, until the company I work for issued a moratorium on vacation during that time period. No one is allowed to take vacation while the Olympics are on. I guess it was wishful thinking on my part. I work for Coast Mountain Bus. So while you are flying through Space Mountain, I will sitting in traffic, well, probably not really moving much at all actually. At least I'll be getting paid to sit in the traffic though. lol

I haven't really thought about 2010 yet... That is supposed to be our vacation year to go back to WDW, (we try to go every 3 years to WDW and the other years to DL), but we usually go in late August. Maybe we'll push vacation up to February and head out as well (I like the suggestion to drive to DL as a good way to avoid the airports). I am definately not looking forward to getting from North Delta to Downtown Vancouver every day for work, during or around Olympic time!!!

The Olympics are going to be in Vancouver/Whistler, British Columbia in 2010.
