I have been back on Atkins since January 1st and have lost 9 pounds! I am soooo used to the old Atkins diet however, I have made that switch to 'NET CARBS". For those of you who have, what do you notice the main difference is?
Hey Dawn, there are lots of Atkins folks over on the WISH board! I've gotten so much inspiration and information over there. I haven't tried the "net carbs" yet (I seem to be sticking around induction levels for a while) but I hope to get there someday!
I have been doing 'Atkin's, or just low carb awareness since late July and am down 43 pounds. I don't find it all that difficult, but would like a bowl of grits soon, LOL. Good luck, Dawn.
I had MANY bowls of grits!! I can't beleive another Chicagoan likes grits....do you like them with sugar or salt? I loaded mine up with butter and sugar...the only way to eat grits if you ask me!! They were quite yummy. Had I ahve known, I would have gladly had a bowl of two for you.....but now back to the Atkins grindstone....no grits, no sugar, but pleanty of butter!!!!
Atkins for life here.
Wishing you luck, DawnCt. I started Atkins on Feb 26th- and reached goal (weightloss of 70lbs) on Aug 16th.... all of this was in my sig line before it was deleted. LOL I've lost a total of 80lbs but maintaining more like 75lbs weightloss- it's where my body wants to stay now I guess. I'm okay with that. LOL
I don't do net carbs but I eat more carbs- so it's the same difference. I mean if you eat more because you only count the net carbs or you eat more because you're allowing yourself more carbs but counting them all- it's the same!
I started last week and have the most inspiring friends over on the WISH board. I fought it like an animal, thought it was RIDICULOUS to stop eating low calorie things such as bread and pasta but after reading the book I've changed my prospective.
I also have MANY relatives, friends and co-workers who have not only lost weight on this diet, but gained back health and look years younger.
I lost 9 lbs my first week and look forward to a long term relationship with a low carb lifestyle.

Thanks, I think I will definately be ready for my cruise when April comes. I have done Atkins for almost 30 years periodically for almost 30 years and its the diet that works for me,.
I haven't done Atkins....I'm pregnant right now and can't diet, but may need to start eating low carbs for the remainder of the pregnancy. Since all of you are on this, what are some snacks, and some things to drink other than water? Thanks, and congratulations to all of you!
