I have a Whirlpool dishwasher, and apparently this model has a problem with the heat sensors that causes it to malfunction and lock up. I've had a repairman out here at least 5 times to fix this thing for various reasons, and one of those times was when my clean light was flashing and you couldn't do anything with it. He told me the sequence of buttons I needed to press next it did it, but I can't remember what they are! My clean light is flashing again and the dishwasher is locked up. I really don't want to pay a fortune to have someone come out just to reset the code. If anyone knows what it is, could you please let me know? Thanks!

I have a Kenmore and is it possible that Whirlpool makes Kenmore? If so, here is my code: "Press normal, heated dry three times in a row and then press cancel". I hope it works for you.

Whirlpool DOES make Kenmore.

Im married to an appliance tech! :disrocks:

Unfortunately he aint picking up his phone! :lmao: He'll call me back when he see's I called and Ill post the answer. :wizard:

Ahhh...Steph...I have the GE Adora. (My home is 15 months old.) And like yours there are more buttons on it than I will ever use. And it does lock up and angers the heck out of me and I have yet to figure it out. I find if I then leave it alone for awhile the lock releases.

We moved from a 25yo home and I had a basic, standard Kenmore dw and all I did was load it, put in the soap, close the door and hit start. LOVED THAT.
And if I wanted to add a dish right after I hit start, no problem it allowed me to close the door back up and resume! :goodvibes

If I try adding a dish after I hit start on the GE.....WELL..... sometimes it will stop and sometimes it will continue and most times I am  !!!!!!!

I am completely appliance challenged!

Awwww man.... he doesnt care for doing dishwashers. :confused3 He said the computer panel models can *sometimes* be reset by hitting the circuit breaker....

If not - he said there is sometimes a 'cheat-sheet' under the bottom plastic panel of the dishwasher.... if you remove the bottom panel of the DW, they'll be a sticker or something and will list cheat codes, to reset it.

Let me know if it works.

OP -

Can you Google your question? I remember one time I couoldn't find the tv/vcr/etc codes for my remote. I Googled my queston and...voila! You also might want to do a search in "Google groups".

agnes!

Steph: Decide to try my manual.. , on the troubleshooting page it states "Flashing Display Lights" (what it means) Cycle has been interrupted by pressing the START/RESET pad. Light will quit flashing after the dishwasher automatically drains out all the water.

This was the only thing I could find on flashing lights. GE does not mention codes. But I am wondering if you have water in the bottom that has to drain?

Good Luck, Steph...I will say I have learned something by getting out this manual...how to add a dish to my d/w when it has already started...(hahaha)!!! About time I read that..huh!!!!!!!

Thanks, that didn't work, but I was able to find the tech sheet behind the washer's kickplate. It's currently in diagnostic mode and cycling through - hopefully I didn't screw anything up!

Thanks! That's what I did, and the sheet was there. I felt like I found treasure, lol! Anyhow, you practically have to be a rocket scientist to figure out the tech sheet, but I hope I've figured it out.
