Any Advice on checking kids into Resort clubs or "activity centers" ?

I haven't used these clubs before and I was wondering what kind of experiences other DISers have had. The idea of having a night to ourselves on Vacation is very tempting but I am nervous about leaving DD (age 5) with people I don't know.

We are staying at Boardwalk so I am especially interested in any experiences had at the Harbor Club there.

We used the Neverland Club when our DD was 5. At the time, I did research on many of them, but that was 8 years ago and Boardwalk and AKL didn't exist. My daughter had a fabulous time at the club while we went to Artist's Point to eat dinner. Here is a link that has more recent information. Good luck.

We used the one at WL when our son was 5. He loved it! Everytime we go back, he begs to go again. The women who run the place are older women, like grandmothers. They have great activities, a place for a nap, bathrooms ect. I would not hessitate to put my son there again. If you want, check it out the day you check in and then book it for the night you would like. I am sure you will be impressed!
Just a fyi, try to go someplace close to your club so you don't waste a second of your time on Disney transport. That was our only goof for that night.

I posted a similar question a few weeks back and got very positive feedback.

As I am doing this trip solo with 6 year old DD- I plan on having her experience some fun with other kids at the Kid's Club at the GF while I get pampered in their spa.

We're staying at the WL and thought of just using the club there but then as a poster above mentioned- you then have to use valuable time in transportation rather than at your destination.

They all sound like lots of fun!
