We just booked for September, Port Orleans French Quarter. Is there anyone that might have some advice for this resort. Shortcuts, do's and dont's, anything like that? Thanks. This forum has been great for advice, and helping tips.:cool1:

This was my favorite moderate resort before I bought into DVC and then fell in love with AKLV. I would recommend getting a king room if it works for your family because they are all corner rooms with extra windows. This is really nice especially if you get a view of the lake. :)

Nikki, I'm just like you... Love POFQ, love AKV once I bought DVC!

POFQ is such a nice, small resort that there really isn't a bad location. I always requested building 4 b/c it's close to the bus, main bldg, and if you're on the correct side, close to the pool and laundry.

The music/lounge is great on the weekend evenings.

We are booked for POFQ for November in a king room. This will be our first time there. I am super excited to hear that all the king rooms are corner rooms! Thanks for the tip :)

Also to the OP I am glad you asked this question. :thumbsup2 Thank you!

I agree with everyone. I do not think that there is a bad spot at that resort. This is our home away from home. We tried another resort, but it was too big. POFQ is quiet and relaxed. We recommend to take a stroll of the resort, we love the themeing and there are a lot of benches to sit and reflect or people watch. Take the boat to Downtown too, if that's something you are interested in.

Count me in as another fan of POFQ! Our family loves this resort (even my teen-aged daughters!). While I agree with the other suggestions (take a walk around the beautiful gardens and along the river, and try the boat to get to Downtown Disney) the one I would add is to make sure to try the beignets! They are awesome, and from what I understand POFQ is the only place on property they're available. We love to get them for a snack and sit outside listening to the music and people watching!

Enjoy your stay!
