:yay: YIPPPPEEEEE! We closed today!:yay:

We are waiting :hourglass to be put in the system.

I have downloaded Bill's Awsome Planner: Now is there anything else I should do. :confused3 Any advice is appreciated.
I want to "hit the ground running" when we are able to book our first ressie for June:cloud9:

 Will it be hard to get a 2br SV at BWV in June?
Can you "request" certain rooms? Are there any particular areas/rooms that are nice. Is there a thread with this sort of info?
I would love to see fireworks at night since my DM (74) and my DN (3) will probably be too tired at the end of the day for Illuminations.
I'll just be happy to go to WDW 2 times a year:cool1:
Until I turn to pixiedust.pixiedust:
I so excited:banana: can you tell?:rotfl2:

Getting a SV 2BR for June (or any time of year) at 8 months or less out may be somewhat difficult (although not necessarily impossible). There are a limited number of standard view rooms (only 20% of the resort) and because of lower point cost those tend to go early in the 11 month window any time of year. However, others have succeeded sometimes at 8 or 7 months out and thus you can try. That likewise applies to any boardwalk view rooms (about 15% of the resort and part of preferred view). However, you can usually easily get a 2BR preferred pool or garden view in June (and many times of year ) at 8 or 7 months out.

Illumination fireworks (from a room you can only see the ones that go high) can be seen from upper floor standard views better than any lower floor so might want to request upper floor (4 or 5). They can be also be seen from any 2BR boardwalk views. They cannot be seen from any of the other preferred views because those face away from Epcot

:welcome: Congratulations on your purchase! And with that comes a lot of planning on your part! I too am a new owner, and I made my first ressie day by day at 11 mos. for a 2 bdrm. Boardwalk view. My advice is to plan early, plan early, plan early! Just keep reading the threads, you will learn alot. :thumbsup2

Congratulations... Just remember that when it comes to making reservations at BWV... you are on equal ground with all others. If you are really concerned... make them DBD.

Welcome and enjoy.

I booked a 2 BR board walk view this morning for late May. I got the last one.
Don't wait long to call.

This is our virst BWV trip too, I can't wait. My dd11 thinks we are staying in a 1BR. I am keeping it as a surprise.

I may even spring it on DH but I guess he'll figure it out at the front desk.

Congrats on closing!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: My hubby figured it out when he went to the bank for that BIG check made out for DVC.:lmao: :lmao:
I know what you mean though, He said, "I'll buy and you plan" so he really won't know when we are going until I tell him to pack up.:)

Thanks for all the good wishes and great info guys-I'm taking notes!

I think I'll really like the neighborhood!party:
It reminds me of my favorite Buffet Song (and the decal on the back of my van):

Welcome Home neighbor! We are new BWV owners too! I made out first ressie recently. We are going June 7th for 5 night. I was able to book a 1BR Preferred (Boardwalk view) at the 8-month mark.

If you have ever taken a DVC tour, expect and email from the Rep that you spoke with. As soon as our resale closed, we got an email from her with our pin number for the member website. Then I called Member Servcies and was able to get the membership number and the club id to get all registered. I made our first ressie the next day, when the points finally showed available for booking.

We closed early September and just a week ago, our membership cards came and just 2 days ago our deed and title insurance papers came from the closing company.

ENJOY!! Feel free to PM me.

When we had a pool view room at BWV which was overlooking the quiet pool and Community Hall, we were able to view the top of Fantasmic theatre and some of the fireworks that were high up. You may want to make this request if you end up with a preferred view room.

I bet I would like you, a BWV lover AND a Jimmy Buffet fan.

DH of course was in on the purchase, but he is clueless about the points. . . I think he has a ballpark idea of the points on the contract, but he can't keep track of the banked ones and is clueless about the points charts by season.

I guess DVC falls under my job description.
I am overworked and underpaid.

That's what I'm talking about!:thumbsup2
I see you are from S. LA. Whereabouts? I have friends all over there. Lafayette, Denim Springs, Houma(sp). We're near Houston(Sugarland area)
I have been a Parrothead for wayyyyy to many years to mention.:lmao:
It's nice to meet so many happy BWV people. DD will be so happy to see others with kids near her age.
We actually very quiet people (well, hubby is mostly) so I thought buying at BWV would be a nice change to our usual quiet life. I told him vacations are about change.

We are New Orleans natives living the quiet life in Baton Rouge since 1999. . . I hate to admit it after the Tigers got stomped by Kentucky Saturday.
A girl who used to work for me moved to Sugarland back in 1988 . . . she sure seemed happy to leave the swamps.

On our stays on rented points at OKW DD11 makes oodles of friends at the pool. It feels like a neighborhood over there, very laid back. I really like the landscaping there too.

DH and I walked all around the Boardwalk, BCV and the YC in July during our last trip. I think the Boardwalk has a very New Orleans feel, in a good way. View is important to me too, so I like the fact that you can book boardwalk view if you call at 11 months.

The views we had at our OKW stays were great, and my last trip In September I had a heck of a courtyard view at WL. I'll be comparing my BW view to these, I have a feeling the best is yet to come. . .

I hope you get in the system quickly and get the room of your dreams.

Glad things worked out... You have a good husband... Meaning he trusts you... as a partner in life.... I trust my wife of 32 years... she is my partner in life. She is my everything. That's what it is all about I think.

Thank you Rob, that's a very nice thing to say.
After 15 years you figure you have it down after going through so much together. Actually he knew me for years before we were married (he was my BF's-best friend's- boss) so he knew what he was getting himself into. . I sometimes remind him of this.
DH is very tolerant of me and DD who is just like me.
A few years ago I turned our backyard into a habitat :hippie: complete with a greenhouse and he just went right along. He went and got it certified that year as a surprise Mother's Day gift.
So yes, I am VERY lucky.:wizard: I think by your reply your wife is lucky too.:wizard: :wizard:

I'm actually an owner at SSR, but am so excited to be staying at the BWV in May!! We will be there May 4-9! I requested a preferred view hoping to get a view of the boardwalk and when I got my confirmation it said garden/pool view. Are there any views of the boardwalk in the villas section of the resort?

Thanks so much!!!

There are boardwalk view rooms, you have to reserve them specificially (not a request). You have a garden/pool view, you can still call and waitlist for a boardwalk view.

A certified backyard habitat... THAT'S what I'm talking about... I am sooo lucky to have Mary Beth... she is my center. So glad to share happy experiences. Rob

I do not know what your dates are in June but we are booked for June 8-14. I called at about 10mos out and there were no SV 2bdrms or 1bdrm available. I even tried the following two weeks since we were pretty flexible. We ended up booking a 2 bdrm BW View and Studio BW View and waitlisted for SVs.

Good Luck and Welcome Home!!:)
