Random thought.

We are looking to purchase direct from Disney. Anyone have knowledge if they give an “extra” incentives if you take a tour on-site?

We are looking to purchase and they have some incentives. But we are planning on going to WDW in December. If they offer extra incentives after the tour, then we may wait, take one, just to get those little extras.

Thoughts? Thank you in advance

The extra incentives in the past for onsite tours have been things like gift certificates and Fastpasses. Long ago, they would apply the cost of your vacation to your purchase price if you were staying onsite — would be great if they brought that back. It might be worthwhile to see what incentives they are offering for tours, assuming they are even doing them at this point.

The gift cards were really nice, We had my DD do the meeting last fall so she could get it..ended up buying RIV too.

At the time it was $75 per adult..non DVC member..if you were staying at a deluxe resort,

I can not imagine those will not still be offered. Obviously the FPs won’t be!

FWIW right now they are actually not doing on site sales. I’m sure that will change once things get more back to normal. We are looking at adding on and I spoke to my guide yesterday. We are going to be at WDW next week and I asked if it was just easier to go sign at the sales center. He told me it’s closed right now so any purchase will be done online.

The DVD they sent me promised I’d get free ice cream if I stopped by the sales center. No word as to whether the ice cream is any good.

If I was in any way interested in Direct, and I did not need the points any time soon, I would totally wait until I could visit the sales center in person. We had a really positive experience there. But it‘s more of an intangible thing. Unless they are going to give you gift cards and fast passes, there is no “real” benefit to buying in person.

Yeah it’s usually been gift cards lately. That’s what we got last year when purchasing CCV. The only other advantage I can think of is how quickly the sale goes through on site rather than remotely. When purchasing on site, the entire sale is completed in an hour or so and you’re good to go. Working remotely right now, we’re into week 3 of the purchase process after doing E-signing, notarization, and now just waiting for finalization on their end (All also for CCV).

The ice cream has Mickey sprinkles at the toppings bar.

The toppings bar has got to be closed. It is a buffet.

:headache: Oh. Right. The photo I shared is from two summers ago.

It sounds like the whole sales center is closed, but I wonder if they'll offer the toppings when they scoop the ice cream. You just wouldn't get to add them yourself. :confused3

In 2012, we received $1600 credit since we had an existing reservation. They also gave us 60 fast passes.
In 2018, there were no incentives and we didn't add on. They did give us ice cream and a few fast passes.

There's been lots of variants over the years and it can even vary person to person.

I couldn't even keep the pen I signed our VGC contract with. The receptionist took pity and gave me a pin.

On of our disappointments of not being able to join in 2011 was the fact they offer to credit us the cost of our reservations - and we were doing 10 days in a BCV 1BR! But it just wasn’t in the budget then. :-(

In 2009 we added on with 61 points at SSR ,we received the Builder's discount of 10. pp which came out to 610. Ice cream and FP's. Not too shabby and the points were in our account before we left WDW.
