Any accomodations near San Diego?

Okay, I admit I am geographically challenged. I have an idea of where San Diego is (southern CA), but have no idea of what DVC Interval Exchange or Concierge collection resorts may be nearby. My daughter's indoor color guard will compete in Nationals there in the spring and we would like to figure out whether we could use our DVC membership to lessen the cost by covering accomodations. HELP!

They have a couple of great resorts in that area. The first is Shutters on the beach. That one is right in San Diego, but can be hard to get beacause it is so nice. it is a 4-5 star resort. The second is brand new and is a Four Seasons resort. The name is the Four Seasons Aviara. Here is a link to the website. Click on residential. We are looking at staying here next Jan. I work for a company that sends it's top producers on 5 star trips each year ( they are staying in a castle in Ireland this year) and they chose this resort for next years trip. The rooms are all 2 & 3 bedroom and cost only 270 a week during high season. There are more in that vacinity, I know it well because my sister lives in Huntington Beach and we visit yearly. Too cold in WI for us in Jan. Need the CA sun.

Shutters on the Beach is in Santa Monica quite a bit north! Four Seasons would be closest but still maybe a 1/2 hour drive. It is a very upscale property- rooms rent for over $400/night. It's been open for several years. Other resort in Carlsbad is Tamarack Beach Resort- don't know about that one

Congratulations. I was in Drum Corp, and also competed in the off season, we called in Winter Guard way back when.

We traded into the Marriott at Newport Beach. It is about half way between LA and SD. It is a great location if you plan to visit both places. It is very nice and in a very expensive area.
