If you ate there for dinner, what did you think? I'm debating about whether or not to schedule a dinner there and just can't decide. I'd like to hear some more info about it before making a decision. What was the food like? How were the characters? Thanks for any input!

We ate there for dinner the Saturday before last.
We were on the Dining Plan.

DD11 was very excited to meet Cinderella...but she ended up falling for Prince Charming! She loved it there. My DS7 really liked it too.

The dinner was very typical of all of the buffets we'd had that trip (except Park Fare did have some nicer desserts)....
Crystal Palace,
Chef Mickey's
Hollywood & Vine

We liked all of them & the kids loved it.

Our waitress was very good...always coming over to see what/if we needed anything.

There were several families who showed up w/o ADRs....they were told they had a 45 minute wait. We showed up right on time for our 6 p.m. ADR & went right on in.

The characters did come by often...much more than Crystal Palace.

We are doing 1900 Park Fare for dinner in May. Thank you so much for posting your experience. I can't wait for our DD to experience this. We did CRT for breakfast last year and to be honest, I was a little disappointed. I guess just being in the castle itself was an experience within itself! THanks again. We're excited about 1900 PF!!

We ate there the first time in May of 2003 and really enjoyed everything about it. The character interaction was wonderfully. The mice really spent alot of time with my children who where 3 & 4 then.

Went back in 2004 and again the character interaction was great. We thought the food was better the year before.

Went back again in 2005 for probably the last time.

OOOPS!

I should've have mentioned in my previous post (post #2) that if you have a young DD, you may want to dress her in a princess costume. The night we were there, it seemed like most of the little girls were in gowns. It was adorable. At least my DD11 is older...so she did not feel out of place at not being dressed up, but I imagine a little girl not dressed up might feel a little funny.

My DD is 8, will be 9 on August 1st. Is she too old to dress up? I don't want her to feel awkward either way, dressing up or not dressing up. What would you do?

Your DD is almost 9 so if she does not dress up, she probably might not feel bad about it. Most every little girl (but not all) aged 2-6 or 7 was dressed up though. So a girl that age might feel bad...or then again she may not notice. But I'd ask your DD & see what she wants to do..just letting her know that if she does want to dress up, she won't be alone.

If she does want to though, no, she would not seem to old to do it. The place was crawling with dressed up little girls. :)

I hope this helps.

We just returned from WDW. We ate at 1900 Park Fare a week ago today.

We really enjoyed it! The food wasn't on par with the California Grill ;) , but it was very good for buffet food. We were pleased with it and would eat there again.

My daughters (2 & 5) loved the characters! They were both completely enamored of Prince Charming. We also got an extra character-- Belle. :thumbsup2 The character interaction was GREAT! They spent a lot of time at our table and were very patient while taking lots of pictures.

My girls didn't wear princess costumes during dinner and I didn't see anyone else wear them either. :confused3

The only "issue" was that the Fairy Godmother wasn't there when we arrived or when we left (she doesn't come to your table, but hangs out in the entrance). We just waited in the GF lobby until she returned, so it wasn't a big deal at all.

We're spending our 1st dinner there and celebrating my DD's 3rd birthday. I'd love to dress her up in a costume, but I got her one for Halloween and tried to put it on her and she just ran the other screaming!

It was great at 1900 Park Fair!!! The character interaction was one of the best. My twin 3 yr olds wore their Cinderella gowns---as did alot of other little girls. The food was delicious and the service was great. We already have reservations for our trip next month. Just beware of the crystal palace in the Magic Kingdom---It was one of the worst meals that we have ever experienced at WDW because of the lack of characters coming to certain sections of the restaurant (for 75 min.) but that is all on a different post. princess:

We were at 1900 Park Fare back in September 2005 and loved it, it was the best buffet we ate and the best character interaction we had. My DD(4) wore her Cinderella dress as did almost every other little girl in the place and was absolutely enamored by Prince Charming and the kiss he gave her on the cheek, she STILL talks about it. We are going back in 3 weeks and she's already planning to wear her Cinderella dress again, she's decided Prince Charming won't kiss you unless you are wearing the dress. They have more of an upscale buffet type food, I didn't care for the food at Crystal Palace at all, but loved this.

We loved it there as well. DD was 14 last summer and enjoyed all of the characters, especially Prince Charming! He was so well-mannered and charming (of course!). Characters spent a lot of time at each table, and we got a visit from each character twice. The food on the buffet was excellent...even my picky DD found plenty there to eat. BTW...she did not dress up in costume, but she did want to "dress up" for dinner, so she wore a skirt and nice blouse. :thumbsup2
