My son and future daughter-in-law are looking at St. James in Antiqua and Paradise Island in the Bahamas? I was wondering if anyone has been and what they thought? How far in advance did you have to book with DVC? Also, is it possible to set up the trip with a DVC trade and to pay extra to make it all inclusive. They would like to do an all inclusive. Since we are giving them the points, I would like to take care of making it all inclusive. Does anyone know if this possible? Thanks for any help.

Apparently Harborside has been removed from the DVC list as was the Marriott (now not a Marriott) a year or 2 ago. So no choices at Paradise Island through DVC. St. James is highly rated and has an optional all inclussive at $70 per day with a 3 day min, kindoff steep IMO. You might get it for Spring, Summer or Fall but likely not Xmas to Easter. I'd plan a full year out or more.

My DH and I spent New Year at St James in Antigua in 2002. The resort was very nice, rooms clean and spacious. The plus for me, is its location. Being on a Peninsula, there are two beaches to the resort, one of them has the beachside restaurant which overhangs the sea.

While we were there, the resort appeared to very empty but was in fact 90% full. We could walk around the resort and not see another person. In fact, we found a pool which could have been our own personal one, it was so empty, and only a few steps away from one of the bars/restaurant.

I recommend you look at their website which shows some lovely pictures.

The food was good, with plenty of choice of food and restaurant, buffet style and waitress service. I could go on and on....... I would highly recommend it.
